HomeMy WebLinkAbout0530 Dog and Kennel Licenses 2000CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO ORDINANCE NO. 5 3 0 CJ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO, AMENDING CHAPTER 9.20.021 TO PROVIDE DOG AND KENNEL LICENSES ARE ON A CALENDAR YEAR TERM; ELIMINATING THE PROVISION DOUBLING FEES IF NOT PURCHASED BY A CERTAIN DATE; AMENDING SECTION 9.20.023 TO PLACE THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR LICENSING UNDER CHAPTER 9.20 WITH THE CHIEF OF POLICE; REPEALING PRIOR CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR THE SEVERABILITY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING THAT ALL OTHER SECTIONS AND PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 9.20 NOT HEREIN AMENDED SHALL REMAIN IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT; AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO: Section 1. Amended Section 9.20.021. Section 9.20.021 is amended as follows: 9.20.021 Annual license fee. The annual license fee for dogs and kennels for each year or part thereof shall be set by resolution as adopted from time to time by the City Council. License fees may charge more for unneutered and unspayed dogs than neutered or spayed dogs. If the keeping or harboring of three (3) or more dogs is otherwise permitted at any single premises by the provisions of this Code, the license fee for each dog in excess of two (2) shall be in addition to the license fees set forth above and shall be equal to the kennel fee. Section 2. Amended Section 9.20.023. Section 9.20.023 is amended as follows: 9.20.023 License tae. Upon payment of the required license fee and upon proof of required rabies inoculations, the eity elerk or Chief of Police or the Chief s designee shall issue a license to the person applying therefor, which license shall remain in force until December 31 of that year. The t=reasurer Chief of Police or the Chief's designee shall furnish with such license a metal tag which shall be stamped with a number corresponding to the number of such license and the year for which it is issued. Such tag shall be appended to a collar to be worn by the dog at all times. If a dog tag is lost or destroyed, a duplicate tag shall be issued upon a showing of payment of the license fee for the current year and the payment of one dollar ($1.00) fbr a duplicate tag. Ordinance - Page 1 blj chubbuck05.314 ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS Section 1. Repeal of Conflicting Ordinances. The provisions of any Ordinance of the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, and any provision of the Chubbuck Municipal Code which are in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. All other sections and provisions of Chapter 9.20 not herein amended shall remain in full force and effect. Section 2. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance is held invalid, for any reason, by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any of the remaining provisions. Section 3. Effective Date. The rule requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate days, one of which shall be a reading in full, is hereby dispensed with, and this Ordinance shall become effective upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
