HomeMy WebLinkAbout02 22 1994 CMCOUNCIL MEETING MINUTES February 22, 1994 43 Minutes of regular meeting held at city municipal building, February 22, 1994. Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Council members Leroy S. Quick, Steven M. England, Marvin C. Gunter, Attorney Thomas J. Holmes, Public Works Director Steven M. Smart and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin. Councilman W. Dean Wood was excused. Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Cotant. INVOCATION was given by Pastor Jim Frlsbee, Chubbuck United Methodist Church. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Mayor Cotant asked for corrections or additions to regular meeting minutes of February 8, 1994. Councilman England moved to approve regular meeting minutes of February 8, 1994 as read. Councilman Gunter seconded. All council members present voted in favor of motion. ORDINANCE #410 - Adding Chapter 10.20, "Resident only parking permit areas" to the Chubbuck Municipal code, designating portions of Victor Ave., Teton St. and Bonanza Ave. as permit only parking areas. Mayor Cotant read Ordinance #41~ by title for the third and final reading. Councilman Quick moved to adopt Ordinance #410 as read. Councilman England seconded. Roll Call Vote: Quick, yes; England, yes; Wood, absent; Gunter, yes. "PRAYER VIGIL WEEK" PROCLAMATION - Mayor Cotant read the proclamation in full. Councilman Quick suggested copies be sent to all churches in the City of Chubbuck. Councilman Gunter moved to direct Mayor Cotant to proclaim February 25th., 1994 through, March 6, 1994, "Prayer Vigil Week". Councilman Quick seconded. All council members present voted in favor of motion. 1992-93 FISCAL YEAR AUDIT - City Auditor Scott Jones presented the 1992-93 Fiscal Year Audit to Mayor Cotant and Council. 45 1992-93 FISCAL YEAR AUDIT - (cont.) Councilman England moved to approve the 1992-93 Fiscal Year Audit as presented by City Auditor Scott Jones. Councilman Quick seconded. All council members present voted in favor of motion. RESOLUTION - Amending the rates to be charged by the City for water furnished through the Municipal Water System. P~ Smart said he contacted a couple of banks, asking for a proposal for a fiscal agent, for guidance on getting funding for the wells. PWD Smart said he has not received proposals as of yet. After discussion, Council decided to table the resolution until we get more information. CLAIMS - Computer print-out claims presented to Mayor Cotant and Council. Councilman Gunter moved to approve computer print-out claims as presented. Councilman England seconded. All council members present voted in favor of motion.
