Attorney Wise. Councilman Thompson e×cus ed. Meeting called to order at 8:10 P.M. Minutes of the regular meeting in June approved as written. DISA~EXATION REQL~ST - Gary H. Carlsen presented a letter of request for his property on Buffaloe Rd. to be disannexed from the city limits because he felt it was on the border and didn't receive adequate city services. Council to consider this later. FIRE DEPT. ~ MUTUAL ASSISTANCE AGRE~NT - Fire Chief Denny Jones introduced Firs Chief Ted SchWartz, Blackfoot. ¥~. Schwartz explained a mutual assistance agreement that fire departments in the area are forming and presented a proposal for Chubbuck Fire Dept to join. One city's fire department would cover the next city to them when the neighboring city was helping on a fire call in a neighboring city, or another city. Areas from Malad to St. Anthony are being presented proposals to join this Mutual Assistance Agreement of Fire Departments. Firewriters assure this program will not adversely effect each city's present rating. Discussion but no decision arrived at. A. F. MC OMBER BILL - Mr. McOmber feels he shouldn't have to pay the bill presented to him by the city for $5~0.~3 for material and backhoe charges for 72' of water line the the city installed on Burley Dr. in November, 1970. He presented deeds, invoices, agree- ments, etc. he had. Mayo~uggested invoices be checked and CounciLman Taylor suggested checking minutes for agreement and measuring distance to see if 72' of extra pipe was needed for this particular job. Mayor Cotant then said as he remembers the incident the city did agree to furnish the labor and backhoe for the job and the city will credit the charge of 150.00 against this account leaving a balance of $390.~3 for materials. All coancil members in favor cf this agreement. Council agrsed to hook-up water now and Mr. McCmber agreed to pay bill within 30 days or water would be shut off. WATER RATE ORDINANCE Ai'~JND~NT-Water rates discussed, it being necessary to add. the min~nnw~ cost of various sizes of water lines plus outside city li~it rstes. Decision was to increase various sizes in accordance with the 3/~" increase, and to increase outside city limit rates 50% over the city rates. Attorney Wise to add this to the !~ater Rate Ordinance ammendment befo~ ~option. DISAN~EXATION request of Gary Carlsen again discussed. Council agreed, water was available if he had wanted it, police protection is offered and covered in this area, also fire protection is for him as well as any other citizen. Council decid~not to disannex Carlsen's property. Financial statement presented to ~ayor and Council. Bills presented for pa)wnent. Motion to pay bills made by Councilman komriell, seconded by Taylor with all in favor. Meeting recessed at 9:45 until further notice if necessayy. Clerk Mayo r
