held in the City Office of Chubbuck on April $, 1969.
Present- Henry, Buchanan~ Hillman, Thompson and Taylor.
Called to order - 8:02 P.M.
Minutes of the last regular meeting approved.
Proposed Curfew Ordinance - Presented to l~yor and Council for Study.
Water Dept.- Used Pick-up for use by the water dept. discussed. Decision was to
purchase from Gate City Plumbing & Heating a 1957 Chevrolet Pick-up with 36,000
~les for 6~5.OO plus 3 units of 2-way conm, mnication radio for 150.OO. Total
price 795.00.
Clean-up Campaign - Ail agreed that in the last two weeks in April, the City will
furnish a Truck and haul away any debris or junk that is not s~itable for regular
garbage pick-up, for any resident of the City if the resident will contact the
City so necessamy arrangements can be made.
Street Lights - Ail agreed to install 7 new street lights at different places in
the City. Exact locations to be determined by Hillman and Hensley after they check
the City to see where they are needed.
Park- Ail agreed to get the restrooms f~xed and painted. Plant some trees. Install
slides for the smaller children. Put some benches there for public use.
Stuart Complaint - Arnold Stuart complained to the City about rocks in his field
from the water line extension. He wants them removed immediately so he can start
farming. There was no definite date set as to when the water project would be
completed, however the ~ayor and Council all want to get the Easement for that
project signed and get the matter settled as soon as possible.
Motion to approve payment of bills for the month made by HilLman, seconded by
Taylor. Ail in favor.
Financial and Police report for the Fast month presented to Mayor and Council.
Taxes in Chubbuck- Buchanan stated that people are complaining that houses of
comparable value are paying higher taxes in Chubbuck than in Pocatello. Henry and
Buchanan are going to the Court House and check this out and see just what the
situation is and why land use is considered higher in Chubbuck than in Pocatello.
