Pre~ent- Henry, Buchanan, Thcm~scn and Taylor. Absent- Hillman. ~ Called to order - ~:15 P.M. Purpose- V~rk on Budget and any other business to come ~efore the Council. Trailer Court Water ~ates- After a long discussion between the Trailer Court operators and the Council, a decision was reached whereby all agreed to let the Mayor take the matter under study and give an answer at a later date. North Bannock Fair- Les Selders asked for waiver of a license fee for the Carnival to be held there this year, from August 17, to August 76, as the Fair Board is to get a yercentage of all the Carnival, and this money will be used for improvements at the Fair Grounds. He asked for hel~. again this year, such as a parade like they held last year. Fair Board will help d~fray costs of extra Police to be hired for this occasion. Ail agreed to help the Fair as much as possible. Thcm~son and Taylor were appointed to work with the Fair Board. ~ Budget- Thompson suggested that before we work on the Budget we should consider the possible purchase of a Backhoe. After discussion it was decided that we are not ready for that big a purchase at this time, and what we need to do is try to sell the Aliis Chalmer Loader that we have on hand, even if we have to ~ake it to a dealer and get whatever we can for it. In the meantime the Clerk is to check out the entire cost of Backhoe rental paid by the City for last year. Work then proceeded on the Budget, a copy of which is attached herewith to these m~nutes. Park - Buchanan is to check out the park and see about playground equipment and any other ~'~yrovements to be made there this year. Estimate of Expenses- Resolution read in full by Clerk. Motion to pass Estimate of expenses made by Thompson, seconded by Buchanan. Roll Call Vote for passage of Resolution as follows - Taylor-yes, Buchanan-yes, and Thompson-yes. Resolution Setting Public Hearing on General Tax Levy - raad in full by Thompson. Motion to pass said Resolution made by Thompson, seconded by Buchanan. Roll call vote for passage of Resolution as follows: Taylor-yes, Buchanan-Yes, Thompson-yes. Curfew Law- Council then discussed a curfew law ~or Chubbuck to be about the same as the one Pocatello has. This would eliminate the younger people from coming to Chubbuck after Midnight which is the Curfew for Pocatello. The final decision on this will be made at A later date. Volunteer Fire Dept.- Rex Christensen tried to explain some of the internal problems in the organization. A long discussion followed. Decision was to put Hensley in charge of the Fire Dept. and let him do the appointing for the various jobs. Ail agreed that the phones for the Fire Dept. should be i~sta!led as the Mayor has already signed papers approving of this arrangement. Meeting recessed ~0:OO P.M. till further notice if necessary.
