~.inutes of the ~egu~]_ar' ~eeting of the ~ayor and Council of the{"~lty of Chubbuck,
held in the M~micipal Building of the City of Chubb~ck on Ja~uary ~L, ~969.
Present- Henry, Buchanan, Hillman, Thomlson, Taylor, and McOevitt.
Called to ormer 8:00 P.M.
Minutes of the last regular meeting then read and a.~proved as read.
J~w~es ~t. in Stuart Addition- Buchanan stated that~her~ is no recorded Deed at
the Court House for this street or for the Stuart Trailer rark. After discussion
it was d~-~cid<~d to have Ba!lif check this out with the ~roper description of the
property involved.
Requests for installation of meters- !~od raffish has already requested a meter and
asked when it would be installed. Bart Parrish is tc make a fom~al request for a
meter for his house as he has an ~partment in his basement. These meters will be
installed soon. Rod Parrish also r~quested that his renters water be shut ~
o~ the
first month they are delinquent.
North Bannock County Fair- Mayor Henry stated that he had a request for the City to
waive a fee for a carnival at the ~air this year. Comncil all agreed that if the
Fair Board is to pay the fee it could be waived this year tc help them out, however"
Buchanan thinks that the Carnival itself should be required to purchase a permit. ,~
Police ~ar- The present Car is two years old and it is time for a n~w one. ~'fe will
have to call for bids and have them inspect this one first tc see what they will ~
allow on a trade-in. Hansley is to is to furnish the information on specifications
for a new car.
Garbage Pick-up- HilLman asked if it was time to put it out for bids. After
discussion it was decided that if it were put out for bids we should give 80 to 90
days notice and also decide the terms of the hex% contract. Buchanan is definitely
against bidding at this time. Mcbevitt said there is no law requiring bidding.
Pocatello renewed their co~ract w~thcut calling for bids. l-~tter tabled for now.
County Mobile Home Ordinance- DiscuSsed and decision was to meet th,~ problem when it
arises by use of the Planing Co~mission study of the project.
Fire Dept.- Needs reorganizing. Maycr henry will study and work on this.
Fin~ncia! and Budget reports for 1968 presented to Council.
Budget for 1969- Tentative budget requests presented to Council for study.
Fire District- ~yor Henry stated that he is looking into the creation of a Fire
District for the area north of here.
Bills for month presente~ to Council. Motion to apFrove pa~w~ent made by HilLuan,
seconded by Taylor. Ail in favor.
Mayor's Salary- Buchanan stated that we should study the Budget good and see a~out
an incre~in salary for the Mayor as he is spending a lot more t~v~e on the City
then he is~..oei~ng paid for.
Delinquent Water Accounts- Thcmyson says we need to get the routine delinquents off
the shut-off list if it takes ~ Crdinance to dc it. Bill must be paid in full
before water is turned on again. ~ke Contractors res~onsib_~e to City by informing
City when a house is occupied and by whom it is occupied. Enforce the shu$-off
proceedure. ~ke a list of all $~5.O0 accounts and is they are not ~aid by the loth
of the month they are to be shut-off. ~
