HomeMy WebLinkAbout04 23 1968 CMMinutes of the recessed meeting of April 8, 1968, of the Mayor and Council of the City of Chubbuck, held in the MUnicipal Building of the City of Chubbuck on April 23. Present- Henry, Buchanan, Hillman, Thompson and McDevitt. Absent- Taylor, excused-out of town. Called to Order 8:06 P.M. Purpose- Continuation $~ Regular Meeting. Overnight Trialer Camp Site- Plat for overnight Trailer Camp Site studied by Council. Discussion followed in which the question of a protective screening along the Ramp was brought up by Buchanan. Brenaman agreed to put in such a screen if the Council demands it. Attorney explained there is no Ordinance requiring it at this time, but if it becomes neceSSary it could be put in later. All Council agreed that 2 fire hydrants are necessary to complete the plans. Motion to approve the Plat if 2 Fire Hydrants are added and with the stipulation that a meter for water to the property be put in. Motion made by Hillman, seconded by Thompson. Roll call vote- Hillman-yes, Thompson-yes and Buchanan-yes. City Office Building- Buchanan suggested that we get a Professional to come in and study the possible sites. He feels the ground is too low at the Quonset site. Thompson feels that the time for expansion is now, but that the money should not be spent on a temporary office. After discussion all agreed to have Buchanan study it further, and make a report on his findings at a later meeting. Work Orders- Henry reported that in the future all projects in the City will require a work order, so the Council can see just what material was used and what labor co~ts are for each project. Campbell Construction- paid bill for repairs on water lines which he broke last fall. In the future he is to put in writing any work he plans to do in the City and file such a report with the Council before he starts any projects. Street Equipment- Henry reported that the City purchased a Michigan Loader for SA,O00.0C at an Auction and asked how they wanted to pay for it. The decision was to have it put on a 2 year contract with the Idaho Oank & Trust Co. The other Loader and Trailer for hauling it will be put up for bids with the understanding that the Coubcil can accept or reject any or all bids. Burley Drive Water Line- Thompson repo~ted that he has one more signature to get and then all easements will be signed. Thompson will take care of this. ~4~ding Inspector- Henry stated that the Inspector has not given the Council a report yet this year. Henry asked for a report 2 weeks ago. Buchanan stated that he is not satisfied with the Building Inspector and this matter will be discussed further at a later meeting and action will be taken then. Clean-up in Country Acres- Debris on streets and up against fences in this area was discussed and decision was that Hensley talk to Fred Chase and the property owners and have each one take care of their own problem. Henry then said the City needs a General Clean-up week designated and the City will offer the services of the City that week for hauling away debris in the City Truck if the residents will call and request suc$ a service. Boyd Street- Residents are complaining of too much slag and dust and want to improve it now. City will pay for the survey and residents are to pay for rest of the entire project. Water Ordinance- Discussed. Thom?son wants to work on it soon. It will need several meetings to study it good. Buchanan and Thompson are to work on it together and make suggestions so the other Council members can study their proposals. Delmar Acres- Plat presented by Delmar Peters and studied by Council. Motion to approve Plat made by Buchanan, seconded by Hillman. All in favor.
