As part of our upcoming pavement maintenance project, we intend to overlay pave portions of
Hawthorne Road, Galena Ave., and Alpine Ave. To meet ADA requirements, we will be replacing the
pedestrian ramps which do not meet current ADA standards. The City crews will replace 23 ramps in-
house but in order to accomplish all of the required work, we intend to hire a contractor to replace
another 12 ramps. The attached maps show the locations of the 12 ramps that we intend for the
contractor to replace.
We received the following three bids from interested contractors:
Contractor
Total Bid
D Co Concrete
$67,405.00
Dykman Construction
$92,240.00
M&S Development & Construction
$100,148.00
This project would be paid for from the Street Department's budget and was included in the pavement
maintenance and ADA improvement budget items. The city estimated the cost would be just over
$90,000. It is my recommendation and request that the City Council approve the Mayor to award the
oroiect and execute a contract with D Co Concrete in the amount of 867.405.00 for the 2026 Pedestrian
Ramp Project.
Sincerely,
Bridger Morrison, P.E.
