Chubbuck, bela in the ~unicipal Building of the Village of Chuobuck on
November 12, 1957.
Present-Frasure, ~ard, Fenwick, valenty. Caldwell arrived at 9:00 P.~.
Absent- Hillman due to illness.
Called to order 8:05 P.~.
~inutes of the last regular, two special, and three recessed meetings them
read and approved as read.
Pills for the month presented to the Board. ~otion to approve payment of
bills made by Frasure, seconded by .~ard. All in favor. Bills as follows:
Idaho Power-Tl.~6 & 129.05, Phone-13.92, Pocatello Police Dept.-37.50, County
Commissioners-789.OO, Continental Oil-22.19, Sinclair-Il. S1, Bair's Service-lO.18,

Three bills were withheld for further study and subject to approval at a later
date. These bills as follows-Bannock Electric, A. J. Brennan and Hamilton and
Voeller.
Financial report for the month presented to Board.
Old Business- Discussion on new well amd extensions. ~r. York of ~aterworks
Equipment Co. discussed at length the use of cast iron pipe, giving its
advantages as against use of steel pipe. The cc. ntinuous rise in cost was explained
and the following example presented for a 6 inch main. In 19~7, cost 1.20 a foot,
labor. 525 a foot, freight .095 a foot. Overall total ~.8! a foot installed.
In 1957, cost 2.00 a foot, labor 1.O2 a foot, freight .185 a foot. Overall total
3.20 a foot installed. As in the previous minutes the Board is going to take ~Bids
for both Cast Iron and Steel Pipe and can decide then which type to use,
On new well- Cushman gave a ~ort on the well. At present they are down 200 feet.
Hit Lava rock at 15~ feet. Does T~el a test is justified at this time as the well
will have to pump 700 gallons a minute without muchdrawdown to pass state
specifications for municipalities. ~ard wants the Engineer to meet with the Board
before he instructs the driller to go further. This meeting will recess to a
ti~e when all parties concerned can be here.
Hayfield Airport- Caldwell reports the complaint has been drawn up, but that he
has writben the Attorney General for information to see if he can get it through
without a court trial,
Idaho Bank & Trust Co.- Caldwell has requested a statement from Idaho Bank & Trust
stating their eligibility from the State to handle public funds. The papers for
transfer are ready as soon as this statement is received,
Control sheet for water book-Jones has shown the Clerk how to set up the
control sheet.
Delinquent~ater Accounts-Only answer fron Caldwell's letters came from
~ark V. Long. No payments have been made. The Board authorized Caldwell to draw
up complaints for law suits and Chairman will sign them.
Additional extension of mains- ~ard says lets drill the well first, then we'LL
talk about extensions.
Sunday Closing till 3:00 P.~.- Hensley reports the first ~unday was rough,
second Sunday was better and the third Sunday was good.
~cOmber Connections on East Evans Lane- ~cOmber has been notified by letter
and in person and still the work has not been done. The Board feels that this
situation is to be cleared up immediately. The Board authorized Hensley to
shut o~f the water in the morning and leave it off till all hook-ups are
straightened out to bhe Board's satisfaction.
~ew Business- ~ingo Connections- Board will not accept ~ingo connections as
it is in violation of Village Ordinance. Caldwell will write letter to ~ingo
c~ncerning this information.
Budget- ~e are over our limit on Prisoner's Board Budget. Caldwell explained we
may borrow from another Budget but in no case can we spend more than our total
Budget for the year.
· kitaker ~oad- Thacher bought last house north on ~hitaxer ~oad and would like
Village water. Has the money to put in the line, but this will require further
study to see just what arrangement can be made or worked out so the Village would
eventually own the line.
