HomeMy WebLinkAbout09 25 1957 CM Minutea of the recessed meeting of Sept, 10, 1957, of the Board of Trustees of the ~illage of Chubbuck, held in the Municipal Building of the Village of Chubbuck on Sept. ~eeting called to order 8:0%.P.M. Present -Valenty, Ward, Fenwick, Frasure and Hillman Absent - Caldwell. Purpose of Meeting - Check results of General Obligation Bond Election held on Sept, 20, 1957. The Board checked the results and found that ~l people voted. 26 voted in favor of the issue. 5 voted against the issue. Otaer B~siness - Hamilton & Voeller Contract - ~ead in full by Valenty. Board questioned Section l, paragraph E. The contract needs more specifications. Rocks are not to be dropped back in the trench on top of the pipe. Valenty made a motion to approve the contract, subject to revision of Section l, paragraphE, and the motion was seconmed by Fenwick. All in favor. Village Audit - Dale Jones presented the Village Audit for fiscal years 195~ to 19~6, and 1956 to 19~?. Mr. Jones went over the entire Audit with the Board. Motion to accept audit and approve payment of fee for a25.00 made by Valenty. Seconded by Hillman. All in favor. Election Officials- ~otion to ap rove wages of 5.00 each for 6 officials plus cost of meals which were brought in from a cafe, made by Hillman, seconded by Frasure. All in favor. Election officials were, Edith Grumbein, Phyllis Armstrong, Charlotte V~les, Norma Breneman, Lenora Connelly and Edith Rawlins. Meeti ng adjourned 9:10 P.~. Village Clerk Chairman of Board Water System Report as of Sept. 28, 1957 made by Valenty & Pierce. sater users claiming to be on private wells but found to be using Village water without proper permission. No. 81. Mark V. Long has kept Village water service after refusing to p~y for such service and also has three head of horses. Old balance prior to Jan. 12, 1956 is 82.50. Twenty one months thru Sept. 1957 equals 9d.50 leaving a balance of 177.OO due. No. 6h. Odell Dye, 919 Belmont, Pocatello, Idaho. Property repossessed by · .H. Clark, Box 9h, Aberdeen, Idaho. Clark claims he will PaY 13.50 left owing by Odell Dye but feels that water master should make effort to collect same from Mr. Dye, which can be done as he is a Westvaco Employee. No. 65. Melvin Barkdull was found to have been using the Village water since being shut off on Nov. 2, 1956. Mrs. Barkdull was very nice about the whole thing explaining that the water was necessary for the family thru illness and no work and that they would paY the entire amount due which was old balance of 17.50 and new charges of h9.50 leaving new balance of 67.00. Nos. 66 a 6?. Vern Briscoe property. Reccommend ~ing proper connection on main so as to be able to control each house thru seperate shutoff. One house now occupied since Sept. 1, 1957 by Lee Vromano No. 67-A. Robert J. Mander has occupied house since shortly before Sept. 1, 1957 Question on 25.00 hook-up charge. No. 71. Milo Woodbury property found to be sold to Wm. Daniels, operator of Alameda Dry Clenchers. They moved in the house on Sept. 1, 1957. Question of whether hook-up charge was credited by work of installing main line. No. 73. Elmer Bowman has moved trailer in to be occupied Oct. 1, 1957 and will be subject to the 2.00 charge for additional family. Has 18.00 balance of old been settled? No. 77. Notify Ray Coles to have Keith Edwards come in and settle for old water account or action will have to be taken against the property. No. 82. Elnora Phelps has trailer hooked on to Grimm line for which there shall be a 2.00 per month charge since Now. 2, 1956. Eleven months leaves balance of 22.00. Also notify Vermen Godwin to settle for past due amount of 6h. OO or action must be taken against property. Nos. 85, 86, & 87. Leo Shamburg, Belva Merzlock, and Ray Curtis must be checked for proper hoo~-up. No. 88. S. A. Mingo has hooked on to Village water since Sept. 1, 1957. Subject to 25.00 hook-up plus monthly rate. Intends to make 1½" hook-up for trailer lots to the west of ~ellowstone Highway. Ne. 91. Old Jordan Stuart Basement residence. He has moved into new residence 91*A. Che~k to see about basement residence if and when occupied. Ne. 10~. Kenneth Campbell has refused to pay old original account of 99.50. Has ordered water to be shut off in April 1956 but has turned water back on without permission. Nis total account now due is 176.00. No. 127 & 127-A. Village of Chubbuck accounts. Bring up to date. 19 Fire plugs instead of 1~. 18 to be charged for monthly rates as of June 1, 1953. No. 133-A. Chris Mickelsen. See that account is kept to date. 9.50 now due. No. 137. W. V. Sabin owes back bill of 59.00 but is continuing the use ef Village water. ~as shut off Nov. 2, 1956 but turned water back on. NO. ldO. Check Myron Pratt to see if he is using Village water. No. ld2. Uncover T. J. Larkin curb box as it has been buried. Mr. Larkin knows the location of same. No. ld3. Parrish Discount Store. Check with Joe Brennan. No. ld6. Glen Pyne owes back balance of 55.00, stated that he did not want use of Village mater as he would use his own well. Was checked Sept. 28, 1957 and stood right there claiming to be using private well and was proven to be using Village water. Stated that he would pay all he owed back to shut-off date as he didn't want anything for nothing. No. 150-A. W.J.Johnston. Check 25.00 hook-up charge? No. 152. Old original Parrish House. They all claim to be on private wells, but inspection reveals that they are using Village water. Nos. 158, 159, 160, 161, & 162. Homes on Evans Lane are a problem. Insist on legal advice and definite action. No. 177. Ruby Ames property. Water must be shut off and left off until approval of Village Board. No. 161. A McOmber house. 10.50 is owing and McOmber has promised to make payment immediately.
