HomeMy WebLinkAboutVol. 8, Issue 1Friends,
As I look out my window while I write this message it is snowing. Like the song says, let it snow, let it snow, let it
snow. Along with you, I am challenged by the snow on our streets and sidewalks, but my how we need the
snowpack in the mountains. In speaking with many that love to ski and ride their snowmobiles, they are elated with
the snow so far this year. The world is certainly a beautiful sight right after a gentle snow falls. We need to make
sure and drive carefully and help to watch after our elderly neighbors and others with special needs. I am grateful for
the loving service that I see happening in the community every day. Thank you everyone.
I know that we are excited at the news that the new Chubbuck Olive Garden Italian Restaurant will open for
business on January 23rd. What a welcome addition they will be. The Police remodel and new animal shelter will be
completed by the CM Company, and we will have a ribbon cutting on those facilities soon. There is wonderful
growth happening in our city. Together we have created a friendly and welcoming place to live.
Just a reminder for those that have lawn sprinkler systems in the City of Chubbuck. If your system uses culinary
water at times as well as irrigation water, it is vital that with this cross connection that you have your backflow valve
inspected and certified each year to make sure that it is working correctly so that there is not contamination into the
drinking water. If you have any questions about this, please contact the city office.
Once again, thank you for the efforts that are made by all of you to make this a great place to live. I love my
association with you and am very pleased with the opportunity that has been afforded me to serve you. All my best
and keep smiling.
With warm regards,
Mayor Kevin England

Message from Chubbuck Police:
Snow Removal Policy
Just a reminder about parking and snow
removal! Please be courteous by removing snow
and ice from walkways, sidewalks and parking lots
under your care. City Code (08-28-030)
requires owners or renters of properties to
provide “all weather passage” to pedestrians,
which means you must shovel your snow. Please
do not plow, shovel or blow snow into city streets.
You can be cited for not shoveling your snow
or for placing snow onto rights-of-way or parks
parking lots. Please place your snow on your
property and not on the city street or park parking
lot .
Winter parking is a problem when those who park
on the streets (legally and illegally) are in the way
of snow removal equipment. Please park all
vehicles off the street if at all possible during
winter to facilitate snow removal. If a snow
emergency is declared by the mayor, failure to
remove vehicles from the street may result in the
vehicle being towed to an alternate location and
paying a tow bill. If you have any questions or
concerns, please contact Chubbuck Police Code
Enforcement at 208- 237-7172.
