HomeMy WebLinkAboutVol. 2, Issue 1 Greetings, December 13, 2016 What a wonderful time of the year. I hope all is well with each of you. There is much to celebrate in the City of Chubbuck. My wish and prayer is that the same can be said of each and every one of the citizens of this great city. This year had seen our city grow. The hope is that with that growth will come blessings to each one of us. Let us reach out and welcome each and every new comer to Chubbuck. This time of year also brings the snow and cold. Be careful as you are out in the white stuff either for fun or responsibility. Slow down as you are driving. Also be aware of neighbors who could use a helping hand. And if you find yourself in need do not hesitate to reach out to neighbors for a little lift. We have such a friendly community with so many who are willing to respond to the needs of others. Most importantly let us remember the reason for this season. As we learn more about our Savior we can become more like He is. He stands with open arms to receive us and if we will we can receive Him and all He has to offer us. Thanks to each of you for making Chubbuck one of the best places on earth because you live here. Report any suspicious activity to the Police Department, place valuables out of sight and lock your car doors, lock up your home when you are away, and don’t forget those garage doors! Please be courteous to your neighbors and customers by removing snow and ice from walkways, sidewalks and parking lots. City code (Ord: 08-28-030) requires owners or renters of properties to provide “all weather passage” to pedestrians. We also ask that those who plow, shovel or blow snow into city streets not to do so, please place your snow on your own property. Please park all vehicles off the street if at all possible during winter to facilitate snow removal. If a snow emergency is declared by the Mayor, those who fail to remove their vehicle may have it towed to an alternate location and face paying a tow bill. Branch Chipping As a courtesy, starting in March the Maintenance Department will come to your home and chip smaller branches trimmed from bushes or trees. These branches must be no more than 4 inches in diameter at the base and must be placed in your front yard behind the sidewalk. Please call Public Works at 237-2430, and we will put you on our list for chipping. Our Maintenance crew normally makes the chipping rounds on Mondays. Remember, that you must be on the list and that this service is only through June 26th! Just a Friendly Reminder! Chubbuck tennis courts are closed for the winter, so please return your tennis key by January 1, 2017. Drop the key off at the Clerk’s front lobby counter or at the payment drop off box in the parking lot of City Hall.
