Hello friends and neighbors,
What a wonderful part of the world we live in here in Southeastern Idaho. I have lived here my whole life and I
just love it here. For those of us who live here and love this area there can be a bit of resistance to letting the word
out as to what we have here. Friendly people, a beautiful terrain, peace and quiet, great climate, mild weather with
all 4 changing seasons, and outdoor amenities for varied interests make this area very appealing.
Well folks, like it or not, the word is getting out. We are seeing that a lot of people and businesses are
finding our well-kept secret a place they would like to call home. I hope we can all see the positive side of this
potential for growth. Much has already come, more is bound to follow.
The City of Chubbuck has welcomed many national brand eateries and businesses this spring and summer. Each
one of them has shown that they are great community neighbors. They have added to the attractive nature of this
area. We also have several others that are building here as we speak. We are excited for the opportunities to
welcome them.
Lastly, there are those who are looking at our area with keen interest. We would love to have you here and you
would love it here. We are located right in the middle of a high tech corridor. Idaho State University along with
their medical school, Idaho National Laboratory, and BYU Idaho are all right here. We have a work force that
possesses a work ethic that is second to none. We know how to give an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay.
We are located at the junction of 2 interstate systems, I-15 and I-86. Also Union Pacific Railroad runs thru our
community with ample rail spurs. We also have an airport that provides great air service. We truly are the
Gateway to the West. Opportunity abounds for all who would like to live here and do business here.
As the Mayor of the City of Chubbuck Idaho I would like to encourage businesses that want a low cost way of
doing business, regulations that make sense and don’t over burden, a great and dedicated labor force, as well
as an unsurpassed quality of life to seriously check out your opportunity to become part of a gracious and
giving community. Come and see what we have to offer. A chance of a lifetime awaits.
With warm regards,
Mayor Kevin England

A Message from the Chubbuck Police Department:
Those who wish to commit crime look for easy opportunities to get what they want. Report any suspicious activity to
the Police Department, place valuables out of sight and lock your car doors, lock up your home when you are away, and
don’t forget those garage doors!
Recently, we have had several reports of a common scam where a resident posts an item for sale on a private sales site.
The seller is contacted and the buyer sends a check, the check is sometimes in excess of what the item sells for. They claim
a secondary person will come and get the item and ask that they cash the check. Then the buyer tells the seller to take what
is asked for plus a little more and send the rest of the money back to them. The result of such action is that the check is bad
and the resident selling the item is left with the responsibility. If something doesn’t seem right don’t participate in it, if it
“looks too good to be true” it likely is. Anyone can be scammed, we ask that if you are scammed or feel like you have
been, please report the issue to your local Police Department.
