HomeMy WebLinkAbout04CHUBBUCK i n A u n Quarterly Newsletter Volume 9, Issue 2 April 2024 Message from the Mayor: Friends, „ How time flies... That was especially true this last weekend as weal[ set our clocks ahead one hour to adjust for daylight savings time." That hour certainly went extremely fast. I am not sure how each of you feel about this semi-annual exercise of adjusting our clocks, but I would imagine that many of you feel as I do about this little ritual. The folks that make decisions Like this for us need to pick which of these time frames they like the most and just stick with that. Our bodies do not adjust as quickly as winding the clock forward or backward happens. That being said, Spring is on the way and I for one am ready for this wonderful season. These last couple of storms have been just full of moisture. That is great for our future water needs and not so great for our present travel needs. The forecast shows some warmer weather on our immediate horizon, and it will be wonderful to be able to be outside without bundling up. I love to read and winter always provides time to enjoy being in a warm area and learning new lessons. It is much easier to get excited about some outdoor projects when the weather is pleasant to be out in. Just one more push to encourage each of you to get involved with the rewriting of our Comprehensive Plan. This is a document that has a lot of effect on our future growth and development. This is a place where you can have some say in how that should proceed in our community. There will be several opportunities to get involved and have your voice heard. The Comprehensive Plan will guide development for the next decade or two. Please take the opportunity to help guide and create this vital plan. We live in a wonderful city that is filled with wonderful people. Thank you for who you are and all that you do to make Chubbuck a great place to live. With warm regards, Mayor Kevin England ..................................................................... IMPORTANT INFORMATION! FREE BRANCH CHIPPING SERVICE Reminder! We have had a recent increase I in residential burglaries in Chubbuck. Frequently warm weather and a general feeling of safety allows us to let our Iguards down, resulting in forgetting to close the garage door or failure to lock doors when we leave our homes or vehicles. Some out there are looking for easy opportunities to steal. Remember, the simple act of locking your I doors and securing your property (cars included) greatly reduces "crimes of opportunity". If you see anything unusual or suspect something isn't right please call the Chubbuck Police Department at 208-237-7172. We would like to remind all citizens of the importance of property maintenance. City codes require citizens to I maintain their properties "reasonably" free of weeds and other blighting influences. By keeping up the appearance of our properties we can enhance the quality of life for all. Warming weather draws visitors to our parks. Sometimes problems arise when we bring our four footed friends who sometimes use the park to relieve themselves. Please obey park rules by having your pet leashed at all times and by picking up after them when they do their thing. If we can keep these issues in mind and abide by these laws we can continue to enjoy this wonderful place to I've. You may clarify these codes by going to http//www.cityofchubbuck.us/cpd/codeenforcement.aspx or by I calling 237-7172 asking for Ordinance Enforcement.
