HomeMy WebLinkAbout05 09 1967 CM171 173 Minutes of the recessed meeting of May 9, 1967, of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Chu.buck, held in the Municipal Building of the Tillage of Chubbuck on May 31, 1967. Present- Buchanan, Underwood, hillma..n and Ienry. Called to order 6:00 1F.11. Purpose- Meet an applicant for the job of Street Employee and Police helper. Y'r. Phil Adams, from Missouri Valley, Iowa was presented to Board members. Duties of the job were explained by Hillman. Buchanan requested that a report be made to the Board every month on the work done by each clan the past month. Adams is to work 8 hours a day and h9w on call for 24 hours a day. He would have 2 days off every other week. His job would not only be on Streets and heavy equipment but he is to help with Police work and any other job that arises. Adams liked the couitry '­ere and asked time to talk over making the move wit" his wife before r °ea.chirE a decision. He would not be able to report for work before July 1, 1967. Board all agreed to hire Adams if he accepts the job. Adams will notify either the Clerk or the Police Officer if he does decide to accept the job. His salary would be $450.00 per momth. In discussing the work conditions and benefits the poss_I, l -.ty of jeir_ing the State of Idaho Public Employee Retirement System was suggested. A long discussion on this subject followed after vlaich Buchanan made a motion to accept and join the State of Idaho Public Employee R.etireraent Qvstem before the first of July, 1967, if this is approved by the Attorney. P "oti_on secrnded by Henry. Roll Call Vote for passage of notion- Buchanan -yes, I'err7 -Yes and Underwood -Yes. Clerk is to contact Attorney and get a legal opinion on thiF motion. Hensler will contact Tommy Terrell if the Attorney approves. I,aTleby Plat Water Line- This Plat was never approved by the Village and now Brennan is laying more water line there without any permission from a "Village Official. Fefore taking any action the Board decided to talk to Brennan and see what this is all about. The pipe being used also belongs to the Village. Buchanan stated that he is definitely against the Village selling pipe to individuals. State Hiway Dept.- Board requested Clerk to write letter to State to inform them that the Village is not going to put in a water line under Hawthorne Road at the Interchange with I 15 at this time as we may never need it and if we do it will not be in the near future. Motion authorizing this letter be smitten made by Buchanan, seconded by Underwood. All in favor. Meeting recessed at 7 :15 P.M. till further notice Village Clerk l if necessary.
