HomeMy WebLinkAbout02 08 1966 CM 129 Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village Of Chubbuck, held in the Municipal Building of the Village of Chubbuck on February 8, 1966. Present-Ward, Hillman, Underwood, Buchanan, Henry and McDevitt. Called to order 8:00 P.M. Minutes of the last regular meeting then read and approved as read. Bills for the month presented to Board. Motion to approve payment on bills made by Buchanan, seconded by Henry. All in favor. Financial and Police Reports for past month presented to Board. Coin-op Service Stations protest- McDevitt explained that he has checked with Pocatello and Idaho Falls and they have adopted the 1959 Fire Writer's Code. Village can do nothing about the mark-up or State Sales Tax at Coin-oD Stations. Having had no Ordinance before, we cannot pass such an Ordir~nce now to prohibit Coin-op Stations. We can only protect for the future. Board will have to decide what form of Ordinance they desire. Storage facilities a~d F~re Protection would be included in the Ordinance. Motion to call ai~ service station operators to a meeting and see what they want befor~ adopting such an Ordinance made by Hillman, seconded by Buchanan, All in favor. Motion to join Civil Defense for this fiscal year made by Hillman, seconded by Henry, All in favoo. Dues to be $100.00 per year. Resolution setting the mill levy for the current fiscal year read in full by McDevitt. Roll call vote for passage of Resolution as follows: Hillman-yes, Buchanan-yes, Henry-yes, Underwood-yes and Ward-yes. Copy attached herewith. New Business- McOmber Plats of Sub-division off Burley DriVe presented to Board for study. Decision- Plats need more work. Streets not satisfactory. Petitions- Petition signed by 30 businesses requesting Sunday Sale of Beer by Bars presented by Bill Reynolds. Petition signed by 300 residents protesting Sunday Sale of Beer by Bars presented by Max Parrish. Buchanan suggested that the Board needs time to study the petitions. Hillard Jones stated that the Board did not accept the petition of property owners before when they requested that the Bars remain open on Sunday. Motion to call a special meeting to examine the petitions and give the Board time to study them made by Buchanan, seconded by Henry. All in favor. Meeting was set for 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 15, ~966. Waterline Extension- Murray Layne bought the old Selders place adjoining the Nei~er Addition on the west and would like Village water. There is no Village line there now. Board told him they would see what can be done to help him get water. Mobile Home on Private Property- Theron Tolley asked permission to park a Trailer House to live in on a lot he has purchased on Lucky Ave. He wo~mld remove the Trailer House as soon as he builds a home on the property.
