Design Review Committee Meeting Minutes
November 19, 2019
Applicant: New Day Rentals
Proposed site address: 190 Southside Way, corner of Southside & Industry
Present: Kevin England, Mayor; Rodney Burch, Public Works Director; Devin Hillam,
Community Planning and Economic Development Director; Bridger Morrison,
City Engineer; Merlin Miller, Fire Marshal; Don Matson, Senior Planner; Paul
Andrus, City Planner; Ron Osborn, Building Inspector; Ray Griffin, Building
Official; Kami Morrison, Office Administrator.
Meeting today is a follow-up site review from November 12, 2019 for a 60x60 permanent
membrane building.
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
STRUCTURES AND SITE LAYOUT: Plan Complies.
DRAINAGE: Structure will encroach on storm drain, and can likely flood. Applicant has no issues
with flooding. Will likely put gravel on top but will not put hard surface to impede drainage.
ENGINEERING: Sewer line extends to serve others. Applicant will have to build within the
easement and needs to meet industrial setbacks for property boundaries. Structure will need
to be 5 feet to the west and 15 feet to the east (from sewer line) and can match existing 6 foot
property line to the south. Door will face west.
FIRE DEPARTMENT: Temporary building is considered 180 days. Will not consider this a
temporary structure. Address will be the same as the current office building of 167 Southside
Way. Applicant hopes to build permanent building in several years.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT: Building is considered a permanent membrane structure. Ray will get
applicant the building permit application to complete.
BUSINESS LICENSE: Applicant has current City of Chubbuck Business License under Gem State
Machinery.
