HomeMy WebLinkAbout11 09 1965 CMMinutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Ch~bbuck, held in the Municipal Building of the Village of Chubbuck on November 9, 1965. Present- Ward, Hillman, Twiggs, Underwood, Christensen and McDevitt. Called to order 8:00 P.M. Minutes of the last regular and one recessed meeting read and approved as read. First order of Business- Ballot Boxes unlocked and count of Election Returns officially checked by Board. Results as follows: Buchanan 15~, Hillman 153, Henry Twtggs 1~8 and Parrish 79. New Board members to take office in January are Buchanan, Hillman and Henry. Bistline Property- Clerk reported that Bistline does not feel that he should p~t up signs or a fence to prevent dumping on his property, as he thinks this is the job of the Village to Police this property. After discussion Board decided to have a notice put in the paper stating that anyone violating the garbage Ordinance or dumping any place other than in a garbage disposal will be prosecuted for such offence. Easements for McOmber Water Line- McDevitt reported that Deeds from Grooms and Woods are not proper and McOmber hopes to remedy this soon. Fire Truck- Starline Fire Equipment Co. representatives Kevin Best and John Howell were present and explained a proposal for a Village Fire Truck. Specifications and a price sheet are herewith attached to these minutes. Truck and apparutus would be guaranteed for 3 years from the date of acceptance. After ailong discussion a motion was made to auth~rize the Chairman to enterinto a Lease-Purchase Agreement for a Ford Fire Truck, equipped according to specifications, if the money is available. Motion made by Hillman, seconded by Twiggs. All in favor. Water Dept.- Hillman r~ported that Geo. Pieper has paid his Sanitation Bill under protest. County is hauling water out of our hydrants for the Sugar Co. and they are to keep track of the loads and the Sugar Co. is to pay the Village for the water. Delinquent accounts- Board all agreed that one of the Police Officers should go with the shut-off man to avoid any trouble when he is shutting off water. This way if anyone starts trouble, the officer can arrest them to protect the shut-off man. All delinquent accounts are to be paid in full plus the Service Charge before the water can be turned back on. Afte~ a discussion on the plotting and mapping of the entire water system a motion was made to authorize Ward to start on this project. Motion made by Hill.man, seconded by Underwood. All in favor. Hensley reported that Forrest Williams had complained about not getting any~:of the Village work, and Hensley explained to him that Cooper will come day or n~ght and charges less than others with the same equipment. Parking on State Hiway Right of Way- Underwood reported that Arnold Stuart has complained about cars parking in front of his house, and asked what the Village could do to prevent this. After discussion the Board decided they could do nothing about it unless the cars are parking in front of a driveway. Parking on the State Hiway Right of Way is controlled by the State and the Village has no authority there. Meeting recessed at 10:30 P.M. till further notice if necessary. Chairman of Board
