Absent- Ward- excused, out of town, and Christensen. Purpose - Discuss the problem of Street repairs on Burley Drive. Called to order 7:30 P.M. Worsencroft explained to the residents and property owner's the particular problem of street repairs to Burley Drive. Street is low, barrow-pits have no way to drain, proper repairs require that the street be built up '~8 inches, each driveway would need a culvert, no existing base for a good road, cost is more than the Village can afford as there are other street repairs in the Vil].age and the Budget is limited, Local Improvement District and added cost of same was explained as was the position of the Village on this problem. The Village will stand the expense of an engineer's survey and cost estimate for repairs to the road, however each resident or property owner would be required to install his own culvert at his own expense. George Foster explained to Board that his land is of no use to him because water stands on his property with no place to drain it. State Highway Department is responsible for this situation as they installed a storm swwer down the side of the New Interstate Highway and made no provision for escape of the water after it reached the bottom on the hill. Board all agreed that the State Highway Department be contacted and see what they intend to do about this particular problem. The question of the possibility of extending Burley Drive north to East Chubbuck Road was brought up and a long discussion on this subject followed. Board advised the residents that the Village could not participate in this project as it wou~d be improving a sub-division and in a matter such as this, the person creating the sub-division would be responsible for obtaining all the right-of-ways, improving the road and installing the water lines, curb & gutter, and paving the road before the Village would accept it. Mrs. Max Ranstrom protested any payments by any of the residents to improve the road. The final decision was for the residents to meet together ~nd further discuss their problem, and in the meantime J.Polinsky will try to contact all property owner's concerned with this matter, and he is to report back to the Board at another meeting to be called when all preliminary work is completed. Meeting recessed at 9:00 P.M. till further notice if necessary. Village Clerk Chairman of Board
