Village of Chubbuck, held in the Municipal Buildi~g of the Village
of Chubkuck on August 8, 1961
Present- Davis, Ward, Hillman, Trost, Frasure and McDevitt.
Called to order 8:19 P.M.
Minutes ~f the last regular meeting then read and approved.
Bills for the month presented to Board. Motion to approve payment
of the bills made by Hillman, seconded by Frasure. All in favor.
Financial report for the month presented to Board.
Lou Lane residents on Village water- Bill the City of Poc~tello
for the water. 13 connections at 5.00 each for outside limits rate.
Rodeo watchmen- Board does feel that the Village is reponsible
for wages for these men and their bill is to be refcred to the
Rodeo committee. Clerk ds to contact Mrs. Ruggles or Elmer Terry
about th~s matter.
Resolution setting mill levy for 1961, read in full by Clerk.
Roll call vote for passage of Resolution. Ward-yes, Hillman-yes,
Trost-yes, Frasure- yes and Davis-yes. Copy attached herewith.
Garkage disposal- Paul C~eaver ,f the State ~ealth Dept. explained
in detail the State requirements for disposal of garbage, and the
possibility of a comunity dump ground for the use of Pocatello,
Alameda, Chubbuck and Bannock CoUnSy. Fee of 6~0.00 per month to be
shared equally by the four comunities. Long discussion followed.
Board all agreed that they want to cooperate but will not commit
themselves till plans are more definite. Board members will attend
a joint meeting with the other communities on August 16, 1961.
County Water at Fairgrounds- County covered the meter with asphalt
when they oiled the road. Board feels the County should uncover the
meter so we can read the meter and bill the County for water used .
Joe Brennan estimated they have already used 2,000,000 gallons.
Hiway Ave.Extension- John Vo!enty was present and had a deed to
the Village for extension of Hiway Ave. taking the road to the TraCks.
Deed was recorded at Court House on April 25, 1955. Clerk is to
check back on the minutes and see if such a deed was accepted by
the Board. E. Therkildsen want to build there and need 100 feet of
pipe to ~et the water to him. Board feels this is a subdivision
and that the subdivider builds the road and installs the water line.
Clerk will bring Minutes Book No.1 to next meeting. Therklldsen then
requested Village water for his property and stated that he was
willing to pay for it himself if the Village will just let the line
extend that far.
Ward was excused at 9:30 P.M.
Mc0mber-Asked if fihancing of a water line could be do~e by a
private individual, and explained that the same private individual
would have control over who could be allowed to hook-up on the
line and who co~ldn't hook-up on the line. McDevitt explained
that the Villa~e can not get involved in any matter such ~:s this.
Discussion followed.
Fire Hydrants - Hillman suggested and all Board members agreed
that t~e f~re hydrants should be flushed and checked every 60 days(
Joe Brennan said he would see that thds is do~e.
Streets- Trost said he has had complaints about weeds along the
roadway i~ the Neider Add~tion. Dacis explained that the Vil~age
had them mowed a while back and as soon as the county mower is out
this way they will have them mowed again.
