Cotant, Council members Steven M. England, Marvin C. Gunter, Kent Keams, Attorney Thomas J. Holmes, Public Work Director Steven M. Smart and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin. Council member Leroy S. Quick was excused. Meeting was called to order at 6:07 p.m. by Mayor Cotant. PURPOSE OF MEETiNG is to discuss 2005-2006 Fiscal Year Budget. PARKS DEPARTMENT 2005-2006 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET - Parks Superintendent Larry Miller presented his 2005-2006 Fiscal Year Budget. Discussion about potential development grants. PS Miller said he will pursue all development grants he can get. PWD Smart stated he will check with Simplots to see if the developer can plant trees on Simplot's slurry easement. PS Larry Miller discussed all line item increases in his projected 2005-2006 Fiscal Year Budget. PS Miller stated the reason playground equipment maintenance is higher is because we installed four new playgrounds this year. PS Miller explained the State has him complete a check list annually to make sure the City of Chubbuck is meeting State Standards. PS Miller's projected 2005-2006 FY Budget includes a line item for Equipment Replacement of $35,000. this year. POLICE DEPARTMENT 2005-2006 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET - Chief of Police Randy Severe and Captain Ken Quinn were present to present the Police Department's 2005-2006 FY Budget. Discussion about City Code violations in the City, including benches that are still in City right-of-way. 1. Hiline and E. Chubbuck Roads. 2. West Chubbuck and Hawthorne Roads. 3. In front Ridge Wind. 4. In front of Common Cents. Chief of Police Severe stated he will pursue getting the benches off City right-of-way. 155 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES - (cont.) July 26th, 2005. POLICE DEPARTMENT 2005-2006 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET - (cont.) PC Severe went through the 2005-2006 Police Department line item at a time. PC Severe said the Police Department is asking for two new full time Police Officers, in addition to one part time Animal Control Officer. CP Severe explained the Police Department would like to propose a Physical Fitness Program. CP Severe stated there is a young lady who recently got a degree at ISU, she offers a fitness evaluation for approx. $50. an individual. Discussion about possible grants the Police Department might receive. Police Department is asking for $264,018. over last years budget. At 7:15 p.m, Councilman England moved, Councilman Keams seconded, with full council approval to adjourn meeting. John O. Cotant, Mayor Ron C. Conlin, City Clerk CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF CHUBBUCK Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50-604, the undersigned Mayor of the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, hereby calls a special meeting of the City Council to be held in the Chubbuck City Council Chambers, 5160 Yellowstone, Chubbuck, Idaho at the hour of 6:00 p.m, Tuesday, July 26th, 2005.
