HomeMy WebLinkAbout05 24 2005 Special CM89 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES May 24th, 2005 Minutes of a Special Meeting held at the Chubbuck City Council Chambers, May 24th, 2005. Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Council members Leroy S. Quick, Steven M. England, Marvin C. Gunter, Kent Keams, Attorney Thomas J. Holmes, Public Works Director Steven M. Smart and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin. Meeting was called to order at 6:11 p.m. by Mayor Cotant. PURPOSE OF SPECIAL MEETING is to conduct a study session on street striping, parks, proposed residential subdivisions and street construction in the City. Mayor Cotant reported the East Chubbuck Road residents, Deloy Stuart and Associates came to Staff Meeting, May 24th, 2005. Mayor Cotant stated that hopefully there was an understanding between the parties. Mayor Cotant suggested the Council review the commercial to residential ordinance. Discussion about regulating size of lots in new subdivisions. Bigger lots make less sewer hook ups. Mayor Cotant stated the City received bids on the Burley Drive reconstruction. Mayor Cotant expressed concern about putting this much money into the Burly Drive reconstruction. Mayor Cotant felt the traffic did not warrant it at this time. Mayor Cotant suggested there are other streets in the City that might need work sooner than Burley Drive. Discussion about the condition of Burley Drive at this time. Mayor Cotant stated East Chubbuck Road will be striped five lanes this summer. Councilman England suggested the speed limit on East Chubbuck Road be re-visited by the Council. At 7:03 p.m, Councilman England moved, Councilman Quick seconded, with full council approval to adjourn meeting. Ron C. Conlin, City Clerk
