Message from the Mayor:
Greetings,
I was going to start by saying, don't you just love this time of year? And then I realized I love every time of year as I am sure
each of you do to. The changing seasons are beautiful, each in its own way. Now as to why I was feeling this way about
the middle of June. Summer is here. We have just experienced a wonderful Spring where things begin to green up and grow.
New life is all around us. Now for a lot of Summer time fun in the sun. Family picnics and outdoor adventures will be
plentiful. I hope you each have some great plans for your Summer months. Just remember that Summer time efforts will bring
greatly anticipated Fall feasts.
The topic of community beautification comes up often in many circles. Do we have some areas of need to have a healthy, safe,
and attractive city? Yes, we do. Now the question becomes; who has responsibility to see to these needs? It is my opinion that
government should have a limited role in this. Where health and safety are concerned and in proper encouragement
government has a role. Aside from this the business community, neighborhoods, neighbors, friends, and family can accomplish
the larger portion of this work. Each of us, individually, should assess for ourselves where we feel these challenges exist and
then
determine what we may be able to properly do to be part of the solution. It needs to start by each of us who own property having
the commitment to keeping our little piece of this community orderly and attractive. Now that is an interesting standard. Who
should determine the level of that standard? It is my suggestion that individual property owners need to set that standard for
themselves. We should each maintain properties that we, and our community can be proud of. If the business community,
neighborhoods, neighbors, friends, and family see that some have set that standard to low, or are having difficulty maintaining
that standard, they should find ways to encourage, inspire, and assist. There will be those who have financial and physical
limitations. This community has always shown the desire and commitment to reach out to those in need.
We have had some individuals from our business community step up and make a commitment to help beautify our Main
Streets. How exciting. In the coming days you may notice some beautification efforts in this area if they can secure the needed
permissions. I would like to offer my personal thanks, and as the Mayor, the thanks of the City of Chubbuck for this effort by
.. those involved. Let's allow this mind set to inspire us to recommit to doing our part. We at the city will put our best efforts into
modeling this standard. What a wonderful community we live in.
With warm regards,
Mayor Kevin England

Wastewater utilities are only designed to handle the 3 Ps (pee, poop, and toilet
paper), but across the nation, utilities are spending an increasing amount of time
and money on removing products such as wipes, paper towels, feminine
hygiene products, and dental floss from their collection systems and treatment
plants. The City of Chubbuck is not immune from these problems — our pumps,
pipes, and plant are getting clogged with these products, too!
