Greetings,
Today marks the first day of spring and what a welcome spring it is. Wasn’t it a long, cold, snowy winter?
I hope that we can all see the blessings that the record snow will bring along with the challenges it presented
over the last months. We also need to remember that it is still March and it is southeastern Idaho which means
the white stuff may not be completely finished.
One thing that this wet, white and freezing cold winter produced was some major degradation of our streets.
I don’t ever remember it being this bad. We will be busy trying to address these problems as soon as the
weather will permit it. We ask for your patience as we work thru this challenge together. Please make sure to
slow down and drive around any place you see the roadway falling to pieces. Driving over these areas, rather
than around them, will increase the size of the affected area and make the needed repairs more extensive and
thusly more expensive. In the coming days and weeks if you are aware of an area that needs our attention that
we seem to have missed please let us know about it. We will address all areas of need as soon as possible.
With spring comes the opportunity for us to clean up and organize things around our properties. Please be
mindful of your neighbors who could use a little help in this “spring cleaning”. A kind smile and a helping
hand can go a long way with our friends and neighbors as we positively approach these issues. We live in a
beautiful, friendly community and with effort from each of us we can make pathways bright.
It is a pleasant treat, here at city hall, to receive positive comments and compliments on the things people
observe in our community. We live in the greatest town on earth and as I have stated before and as I sincerely
believe… This city is what it is because the citizens are who they are. Thank you for allowing me to be part of
the wellbeing and growth of Chubbuck.
With warm regards,
Mayor Kevin B. England
