Friends,
This has been one of the fastest summers that I have ever experienced. I was able to get a whole lot done but
wow it moved on through. I think that we are going to have a beautiful autumn, school starts, the harvest
comes in, the leaves turn and life is good.
Our Public Works Department chooses an employee of the year each year and this year they have chosen
Cameron Lusk, our main Water Systems Technician, with the Water Department. We appreciate the
wonderful work that Cameron does in seeing to it that we all get clean, usable and abundant water. Every time
you turn on a faucet in your home you should think of him and the whole department. They do a great job.
Congratulations Cameron.
This coming year there will be a national census taken. Please watch for your opportunity to participate with
the census. It is vital that we get everyone in our city counted. Many things are decided by the census, not the
least of which is Congressional Representation. Stand up and be counted. If you have any questions don ’t
hesitate to call the office.
Lastly, there is an election on November 5. Chubbuck will be voting on two City Council positions. Seats 1
and 3 are up for election. We have Darell Stewart running against Daniel Heiner and Melanie Evans is
unopposed. Let’s get out and vote.
Thank you to each one of you for all that you do to make this the best place on earth to live.
With warm regards,
Mayor Kevin England

The 2020 Census is coming up faster than you think! In April 2020, we will all have the chance to help our
community thrive. When you fill out the Census, you guide how more than $675 billion in federal funding is
distributed to communities each year to programs like:
Pocatello/Chubbuck School District #25 Lunch/Breakfast Programs
Highway Construction in East Idaho by the ITD & Bannock County Road and Bridge
Idaho’s Small Business Development Centers
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
Pocatello Regional Transit
AND MORE!
This funding helps to create jobs, provide housing, prepare for emergencies, and build schools, roads and hospitals.
By April 1, 2020, households will receive an invitation to participate in the census. You will then have three ways to
respond: online, by phone, and by mail.
For more information on the Census, visit 2020Census.gov.
