HomeMy WebLinkAbout11 08 1973 CM 179 Minutes of a special meeting of the mayor and council held at the city municipal building November 8, 1973. Present: Mayor Cotant, Councilmen Kinghorn, Menard and Romriell, Clerk Vera Armstrong. Purpose of the special meeting was to canvas votes, consider a bill for engineering services on the Stuart Patak project, discuss attorney salary and review a used car lot license at 5163 Yellowstone. ENGIN~,RING BILL FOR STUART PARK PRO~ECT - Kent J. Parrish was present to discuss this bill. He has presented a bill to the city for 6% of total proposed project in the amount of $2,875.00. Mr. Parrish has been paid $551.00 to date which is the amount he had bi] 1 ed until the last billing. Mayor and council told Mr. Parrish they felt he had been paid for work he had done. Mr. Parrish told council and mayor his fee was the regular fee charged. Mayor Cotant told Kent he felt he should have made himself available for help to the city throughout construction and felt the city should only pay for work done. After a lengthy discussion Councilman Romriell made motion city pay Mr. Parrish a balance of $~L9.00. which will make a total of $1,000.00, which is the ~amount set up in the project scope for design and engineering. Councilman Menard seconded with an unanimous vote in favor of motion. CAN~AS~ ~LLOTS - Ballot box was unlocked and the ballots, poll book and t~lly book removed, oeamem-~v~lope was opened and tally book, poll book, used ballot pads plus pad with first unused official ballot were removed. The poll books were checked, tally books ~ counted and checked. Tabulation of the votes were as follows: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr. for mayor, ~23; Earl L. Romriell, councilman, 270; Wayne G. A~ORNEY BURNETT SALARY - Mayor and ceUncil discussed the hours Attorney Burnett has worked for the city. Mayor and counil agreed to meet with Attorney Burnett at Tuesday evening to work out an agreeable salary. 'MOVING HOUSES INTO CHUBBUCK - Mayor reviewed with council a request from the Parrishes to move three houses temporarily on the west end of Burnside. Councilman Menard moved the council agree and approve for these homes to be temporarily set at the west end of Burnside for 90 days. Romriell seconded with all in favor of motion. USED CAR LOT BUSINESS APPLICATION - Mayor reviewed application from Bob Ephramwith council to operate a used car lot at 5165 Yellowstone and the area is in a commercial ~one so license can be issued.
