Greetings,
Next Friday is the official first day of summer. Welcome summer. That also means that the 4 th of July, with all of its pomp and
circumstance is just around the corner. What a great opportunity that provides for us to count our many blessings of living i n the land
of the free. I would encourage each of us to take proper precautions to see that we celebrate safely so we can make the best of this
time of year.
Let us all take time to really consider the sacrifices that have been made, and are still being made, so that we might live f ree. I am
afraid that way too many of us have fallen into the trap of complaining about our societal position. Are there challenges in our day to
day way of living? Yes. Should we be actively engaged in trying to right any wrongs? Yes. At the same time we should acknowle dge
that we live in the freest land in the world which provides us with the greatest opportunities available to mankind. We shoul d find
joy in our journey. We should be positive and optimistic in our natures. Mostly we should be very aware of those who are less
fortunate amongst us and reach out to them with empathy and a helping hand. Simply stated, we should be, and we need to be, t he
happiest people on earth. I invite us all to come together in unity and raise the flag of hope to a needy world. Lift your fr iends and
neighbors and cheer the stranger.
I love the City of Chubbuck Idaho and can’t wait to see what our bright future holds in store for all of us. May the Lord bless each
one of you with peace and contentment.
Mayor Kevin B. England

Message from the Chubbuck Police Department
The simple act of locking up and securing your personal property (especially cars) greatly reduces “crimes of
opportunity”. If you see anyone or anything unusual or you suspect something isn’t right please, immediately call the
Police Dispatch at 237-7172.
Did you know that proper disposing of old prescription medication may be done at the Chubbuck Police Department?
Just place your unused or unwanted medications in a zip lock bag and bring it to the lobby. The police department can take
anything except for Sharps and aerosols.
The heat of summer poses life threatening situations to people and animals. Do not leave your children or pets sitting
in cars even if you are just running into the store. Please remember also that your pets left outside need shade and fresh
water at all times.
Property maintenance isn’t just a courtesy it’s the law. City codes require citizens to maintain their properties
“reasonably” free of weeds, grasses and other blighting influences. By keeping up the appearance of our properties we
enhance the quality of life for all citizens and maintain property values.
If we can keep these issues in mind and abide by these laws we can continue to enjoy this wonderful place to live.
