HomeMy WebLinkAbout07 24 1973 CMMinutes of the regular meeting of the mayor and council held in the city municipal building July 2~, 1973. Present: Mayor Cotant, Councilmen Kinghorn, Menard. Attorney Hargraves and clerk Vera Armstrong Mayor announced to those present a quorom was not present and officisl business could not be acted upon. George A. Lish, Lynn D. Weller and John Miller and his attorney Dale Kisling said they would return to the next council meeting with their business. SPEED CHECK REQUEST -Michael Metcalfe represented a group of residents from Adams Dr. and Lucky Ave. requesting the city construct some road checks on these streets. Mayor informed them raised checks could leave the city liable if an accident occured and asked Attorney Hargraves to check this out. COMPLAINT ON CONSTRUCTION OF BARN - M. C. Doty, 3~9Whitaker Rd., complained of a barn being built on property next to his. He has checked with city office and no permit had been issued. Mr. Dory remarked the barn caused flies and manure odor which he disliked because of his rental units nearby. Mayor Cotant informed Mr, Dory the city would check out the legality of construction of the barn. CIRCLE-IN DEVELOPMENT - Charlie Frasure and John Murray were present to discuss the development of their trailer park. They imformed mayor and council they planned to oil Lish Street and sidewalk eash side. They also plan to oil and sidewalk the entrance street from Yellowstone. SIGN COMPLAINT AND LIGHT REQUEST - James Branson, E. Chubbuck Rd., requested the city try to have sign removed at corner of Chubbuck Rd. and Yellowstone Highway because of the danger it caused obstructing view. Mr. Branson also requested a street light be installed at the end of the residential zone on East Chubbuck Rd. He reported he had had several burglaries recently and felt a street light would help. Mayor Cotant informed Mr. Branson the city would work on these requests. CHUBBUCK DAY CkW.EBRATION - Discussion was had on the upcoming Chubbuck Day celebration. Mayor assigned Dwain Kinghorn over the food booths and asked cooperation of all on making the day a success. Meeting adjourned at 9:~5 p.m. Vera C. Armstrong, City clerk John O. Cotant, Jr., Mayor
