HomeMy WebLinkAbout06 26 1973 CM121 Minutes of the regular meeting of the Mayor and Council held in the city municipal building June 26, 1973. Meeting called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Cotant. Present: Mayor Cotant, Councilmen Kinghorn, Menard, Romriell and Taylor, Clerk Vera Armstrong Minutes of June 12 meeting approved as written. SEWER SERVICE LINE - Mike Metcalf, 226 Adams, advised mayor and council his sewer service line has been installed at wrong location. He stated he had called Oregon Construction to change location he had requested on the card from the east side to west side of his home. However, Oregon placed the service line on the east side of his home as this was the only instructions they were aware of. Mayor informed Mr. Metcalf they would check this out with Oregon Construction to see what can be done. PARKWAY MOTEL SEWER EASF2MENT - An easement is being requested by the city for construction of the sewer line through John Mi]ler's property at 4613 Yellowstone. Mr. Miller proposed drawing a plan of what he would like installed for the sign~;_ng of the ease- ment and meet with mayor and council at next meeting. This was agreed upon. ESTENSION OF TIME ON FIRA~ORKS PERMIT - The 31st Ward of the LDS Church has requested the closing time of their fireworks stand be at 9:30 p.m instead of 9:00 p.m. Mayor and council decided 9:30 p.m. was too late and time should remain at 9:00 p.m. ~# 1 AREA - Mayor Cotant suggested the city grade and improve the We]~ #1 area on East Chubbuck Rd. Council agreed with the mayor and Councilman Menard made motion the city have Forsgren, Perkins & Assoc. survey and stake the area. Kinghorn seconded with ~]] in favor. FENCES - Councilman Menard suggested fences not be permitted along curbs because of danger of children walking and bicyclist getting off street in an emergency. SPEED LIMITS - Councilman Menard stated he felt speed limit at several areas should be changed. After discussion mayor and council agreed to change speed limit on Chubbuck Rd to 30 mph from east city limits to west city limits. It was also agreed to post Hawthorne Rd. 30 mph except in school zone which wd~l remain 20 mph. Mayor and council decided to leave all other streets as they are. STOP SIGNS - It was noted that stop signs were needed at Lish Street, Mobile Manor exits at Chubbuck Rd. and Hiline Rd, a dead-end sign on Alton and on the north side of Hiway Avenue. BUILDING INSPECTOR - Councilman Menard again suggested advertising and hiring a building inspector. ANNOUNCEMENTS - Mayor informed council the city was installing the water line on Bmrley Drive this week. Water survey will be ready next week. Specifications for a well in Country Acres will be ready this week. The city purchased an Allis Chalmers 16 HP lawn mower. Meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m. ~onn . o ant, Jr., Mayor Vera C.
