COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
August 8th, 2000
Minutes of a special meeting held at the Chubbuck City Council Chambers, August 8th, 2000.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Council members Leroy S. Quick, Steven M. England, Marvin
C. Gunter, B. Kent Kearns, Attorney Thomas J. Holmes and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin.
Public Works Director Steven M. Smart was excused.
Meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
PURPOSE OF SPECIAL MEETING is to discuss Quick Response Unit - Scott Gerwell and Fire
Chief Eric King were present to answer questions regarding Chubbuck Fire Department
implementing the Quick Response Unit.
FC King stated the funding will come from the normal Fire Department Budget.
There should be no additional equipment needed. FC King said it will cost $33,000. to
start the Unit. FC King stated Level 1 is required to be certified. If Chubbuck Fire
Department decides to implement the program, it will be implemented the first of April or
May before it would start. FC King stated, at this time the Department has five trained
personnel. The Department does not have to provide an ambulance.
Department Policies will have to be developed and approved.
Fire Chief King stated he needs direction from the Council on whether the Fire :
Department should proceed with implementing the Unit.
Fire Department members present, spoke in favor of implementing the Quick Response
Unit.
Councilman Gunter moved to support the Fire Department implementing the Quick
Response Unit, Councilman England seconded. All council members voted in favor of
motion.
At 7:30
approval to adjourn meeting.
