COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
April 27 ', 2004
Minutes of a Special Meeting held at the Chubbuck City Council Chambers, April 27h, 2004.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Council members Leroy S. Quick, Steven M. England, Marvin
C. Gunter, Kent Kearns and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin.
Meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
PURPOSE OF SPECIAL MEETING is to discuss Fire Department issues.
Fire Chief Eric King, Brett Campbell and Stacey Hyde were present.
FIRE DEPARTMENT DISCUSSION - Fire Chief Eric King presented the report.
FC King stated by going to the 24 hour shifts the Fire Department has better response
time and improved community service.
Discussion about how the 24 hour shift works.
FC King said they are working on getting all firemen EMT Certified.
Discussion about potential Grant possibilities for equipment, etc.
Discussion about future growth, additional property for another fire station. There are
proposed subdivisions to the north, east and west of City Limits.
FC King suggested the need for more full time employees in the Fire Department.
FC King stated there is going to be a safety expo May 151, 2004 at the Pine Ridge Mall.
Councilman Gunter made motion the Fire Department continue with the 24 hour shifts as
ran now, with another review in six months, Councilman Quick seconded. All council
members voted in favor of motion.
Councilman Gunter suggested a fund be set up for the purpose of purchasing Fire
Department capital improvement items. Should plan for at least five years in the future..
At 7:00 p.m, Councilman England moved, Councilman Quick seconded, with full council

CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF CHUBBUCK
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50 -604, the undersigned Mayor of the City of Chubbuck,
Idaho, hereby calls a special meeting of the City Council to be held in the Chubbuck City
Council Chambers, 5160 Yellowstone, Chubbuck, Idaho at the hour of 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, the
27th day of April, 2004. The purpose of the special meeting is to discuss Fire Department issues.
