HomeMy WebLinkAbout11The Connection City of Chubbuck Newsletter Vol. 3 Issue 11 Message from the Mayor: November 2008 I hope that November 4" is an important date to you and that you are already planning to vote in person or by absentee ballot. If you have any questions related to the voting process, call the county elections office at 236-7330. It is also im- portant to get information on the candidates and issues to be voted on. One vote can make a difference. Again this year, the Chubbuck Police will be sponsoring a "trunk or treat" activity on Halloween Day. Instead of being at City Hall, they will be set up in the Pine Ridge Mall from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Along with candy, they will be providing some safety items that will help youngsters be seen better in the dark. Most of the mall businesses will also provide for trick or treating during the same hours. They ask that masks, heavily painted faces or hoods not be worn and that no fake or toy weapons will be allowed. Again, we are asking those in neighborhoods that would prefer children NOT come to their door to please leave their porch lights off. We encourage either an adult or older sibling to accompany little ones. Let's all have a safe and fun Halloween this year. You will also see information in this newsletter about the Highland High School Marching Band. This is a tremendous opportunity for these young people, and I encourage our citizens to do all they can to support this effort. Whenever we can provide positive, progressing, real life learning experiences for the youth of our community, it is worthwhile. Please become informed about how you can help, and then participate as much as you can in supporting this event. Thanks again for all who participate in moving our community forward. Chubbuck continues to be a great place to live and do business.
