October 2010
Autumn is in frill swing, and we are enjoying a gorgeous Indian summer. I hope the warm days, cool nights,
changing leaves and final harvest of the garden get a little extension this year. As yard projects are completed,
and we get our property ready for winter, it is important to remember that if you anticipate doing any burning
that you check with the fire department to get any regulations and permits that are needed. They can provide
you with the information that is necessary.
The need to discuss the use of cell phones while driving, has come to my attention. The city will enforce the
inattentive driving law where impaired driving is noted. I would strongly advise against use of any device that
is not hands-free while driving. I know that we all have a tendency to think that we can do it without creating
a safety issue. However, just like the best way to avoid driving while intoxicated is to not drink at all if you
plan to drive, the best way to avoid driving inattentively due to cell phone use is to not use a hand held phone
at all while driving. There is state law that is being considered to force this behavior. I hope our citizens will
make it just "the right thing to do", before any law is passed. Please discuss this matter with those who drive in
your family and encourage each other in complying with this common sense approach to safe driving.
I am continually reminded of how grateful I am to live in this place in the world. The best part of living here
is the people. I really appreciate you. Let's all continue to make Chubbuck a wonderful place to live and do
business!

ARE YOU A CONSIDERATE DOG OWNER?
1. Do you use a leash?
2. Do you make an effort to spare your
neighbors having to listen to your dog
barking in excess?
3. Do you clean up your dog's messes
when it visits other yards or the park?
Leash Rules
Dogs and other pets are only allowed in
city parks if they are accompanied on a
leash held by an adult or child strong
enough to control the animal.
Tell It To City Hall
In our democratic form of government, city employees are public servants. We are anxious to serve you the best
way we can. There are many maintenance and operational problems that are faced daily. City employees find
many of these problems and take care of them before citizens become aware of them. Other times, you may
spot something we have missed. We encourage you to tell us about these problems, so we can fix them for you.
There are also times you might wish to pass on a good word to city workers. We invite you to use this form to "Tell It
To City Hall":
