HomeMy WebLinkAbout09City of Chubbuck Newsletter Vol. 2lssue 9 Message from the Mayor: Septembef- 2007 I would like to extend an exuberant THANK YOU to all who contributed in any way to the success of our Chubbuck Days celebration this year, from city staff and volunteers who planned and carried out our activities to all who attended. It was very much a success and just plain a whole lot of fun. 1 would encourage anyone who has some ideas for next year or who would like to volunteer to help to please contact us. We are again planning on the 2nd weekend in August, which in 2008 is August 91h. Put it on your calendar now and plan to participate. I was pleased to participate in events that honored Sgt Nick Guinmersall for his service to our country. Nick and his family lived in Chubbuck for many of his growing up years. As a city, we extend our thanks and condolences to his fam- ily. It is a good time to express our gratitude to all service men and women, veterans and their families for their sacrifice and service in defending our freedoms. I would like to update you on a couple of items that I consider milestones for the city. First, the Idaho Central Credit Union Member Services Center that we have all watched being constricted near the interstate has been completed and is now being used. They were part of the Parade of Homes this year, and I hope many of you had an opportunity to visit this new facility at that time. We are glad they chose Chubbuck and heartily welcome them to our community. Second, we have now completed the Joint Powers Agreement with Bannock County and the City of Pocatello for the extension of the sewer system. This will give us the opportunity to move ahead with that project in a meaningful way. Again, I will keep giving you progress reports as we move ahead with this endeavor. As we come to the end of the summer, I encourage you to complete those projects that will prepare your property for winter. Please be aware of school zones and children going back to school. Thanks to all for making Chubbuck such a good place to live and do business. Mayor England Some Special Thanks To...
