Message from the Mayor:
August 2009
It seems as though summer just began, and now school is just a few weeks away from starting again. The unusually wet
and cold June made summer seem abbreviated. In the meantime, we had a successful launch of our recycling program.
I hope those of you who signed up are satisfied and others will consider participating. A very creative suggestion I heard
the other day was for neighbors to share the service and also the cost between them.
As ,you can see from reading the rest of the newsletter, we again have some exciting things planned for Chubbuck Days.
I would like to thank all of our area businesses, as well as individuals and organizations who are assisting in any way
with the success of our event this year. I would like to mention a few who have helped in special ways for the celebra-
tion. The signs located around the city announcing the celebration have been provided by a partnership with
Deloy Stuart and HomeSeekers Magazine. We have received fiinding from Key Bank and Norco for providing the
"Birthday Balloons" that we are planning for both the parade and festival. Mike Shore of Advantage Plus Credit Union is
our Parade Chairman again this year. Intermountain Golf Cars is providing some transportation for the festival, and
Walmart is providing watermelons again this year. Robert Allen Auto Group is providing the car for Tom and Karen
Nield, who are our Grand Marshals for the parade this year.
A lot of city employees have contributed in various ways, but a special thanks to Wendy Butler and Nelli Simmons with-
out whom the Mayor would have been in real trouble. If you see any of these individuals, give them a special THANK
YOU. Enjoy the rest of the summer! Remember, as it is says on the back of the commemorative shirt that will be avail-
able for sale at the festival: Thanks for making Chubbuck such a great place to live and do business
