Welcome to "springtime in Idaho": It
having more pleasant weather that not. As noted later in this newsletter, the city will be providing branch chi in a ain
this year to help as you get your yards spruced up and ready for summer. We will also be providing other encourage-
ments as we work toward Community Spring Clean-up Day, May 51h
As I mentioned last month, the city has partnered with ISU Women's Softball to provide them with a home field for the
first time in 24 years. They won both double-header games played at the Capell Park softball complex on Tuesday,
March 13th. The Mayor was asked to throw out the first pitch, and the city was presented with a signed game ball to
commemorate the event. The ball is on display at City Hall. The ISU coaching staff has offered to sponsor a clinic for
our girl's softball program. This is a real win-win cooperative effort by both the city and ISU. Thanks to our Parks De-
partment for all that was done to make this effort successful. We have provided a schedule for the remaining games to
be played at Capell Park and encourage you to come and watch. It is very entertaining.
From my view, I am very optimistic about both the short and long term future of our community. I feel that Chubbuck is
poised to be a very vital part of thepu k aontinuesthis

Future vision
CpHA is continuing to raise funds
for its regulation hockey complex.
Over the next three to five years,
this two-phase project is planned to
become a large indoor public venue
with a regulation in-line hockey rink
and a regulation ice hockey rink,
joined in the middle with a conces-
sion area and locker rooms. Tourna-
ment players from other states will
be attracted to Chubbuck.
Branch Chipping
As a courtesy, each spring season the Maintenance Department will
come to your home and chip smaller branches trimmed from
bushes or trees until the end of June. These branches must be no
more than 4 inches in diameter at the base and must be placed in
your front yard behind the sidewalk.
When you are ready, just call Public Works at 237-2430, and we
will put you on our list for chipping. Our Maintenance crew nor-
mally makes the chipping rounds on Monday. Remember, this ser-
vice is only through June 30th! Also consider the Spring Cleanup
on May 5th for getting your property looking great.

Tell It To City Hall
In our democratic form of government, city employees are public servants. We are anxious to serve you the best
way we can. There are many maintenance and operational problems that are faced daily. City employees find
many of these problems and take care of them before citizens become aware of them. Other times, you may
spot something we have missed, We encourage you to tell us about these problems, so we can fix them for you.
There are also times you might wish to pass on a good word to city workers. We invite you to use this form to "Tell It
To City Hall":
