Quarterly Newsletter Volume ], Issue 1
CHUBBUCKJanuary 2016

Message from the Mayor:
Greetings,
I hope you all had a great holiday season. It truly is a wonderful time of the year. There are 2 issues that I would like to
talk to you about in this new letter.
First, I have been working closely with the Post Office to see that we have appropriate service in our community. They
have been positively responsive from Washington DC, our regional hub in Salt Lake City and our local folks. I hope
these efforts will restore mail delivery service to our area that is acceptable. If any of you have issues that need to be
addressed by the Post Office please make my office aware of them so that we can see that they are brought to the
attention of those who can fix them. I do not believe that things are as they need to be yet, but I do believe service has
gotten better over the last few weeks as we have worked with them. I will stay on top of this issue as long as it takes to
get it right.
Second, it has become necessary for the city to discontinue use of the free recycle roll off containers located at City
Hall and the two elementary schools. The company we contract with to provide these services has let us know that the
price per ton they can get for recycled materials has dropped substantially and they have had to pass those costs on to
the City. In the month of October these free services created a loss to the City of $2,474.00. It is our hope that City
residents that have been using these containers will consider signing up for a residential cart and continue participating
in the recycle program........................................................ ................................. _..................................................................................

Please give us your opinion on this newsletter!
i With warm regards, 1 Do you think a newsletter is a useful tool? Do you think doing a
Mayor Kevin England quarterly newsletter is sufficient or would you like to see a monthly
newsletter? Please contact Wendy Butler by calling 237-2430, or go
to "Tell It to City Hall" on our website or on Facebook to let us
know your thoughts.

Snow Removal Policy
Just a reminder about parking and snow removal! Please be courteous by removing snow and ice from walkways, sidewalks and parking lots
under your care. City Code ( 08-28-030) requires owners or renters of properties to provide "all weather passage" to pedestrians, which means ;
you must shovel your snow. You can be cited for not shoveling your snow! We ask that those who plow, shovel or blow snow into city streets,
please do not. Please place your snow on your property and not on the city street .
Winter parking is a problem when those who park on the streets (legally and illegally) are in the way of snow removal equipment. Please park
all vehicles off the street if at all possible during winter to facilitate snow removal. If a snow emergency is declared by the mayor, failure to
remove vehicles from the street may result in the vehicle being towed to an alternate location and paying a tow bill.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Chubbuck Police Code Enforcement at 237-7172.
