HomeMy WebLinkAbout05Message from the Mayor We seem to be having a more typical Idaho spring this year with April weather being windy and wet for a few days and then a preview of summer weather the next few days. We hope our sputtering April weather soon gives way to more consistent spring days in May. Last year we introduced an additional charge to the utility bill to provide for the payment of our upgraded sewer system. The commitment was made at that time to continue to find other means of providing for this cost to our rate payers. We have researched the amount that could be provided by the Chubbuck Development Authority through TIF funding on that portion of the improvements that are in the Urban Renewal District. With the approval of this expense by the CDA board in March and the City Council in April, we will be able to lower monthly amount charged on this line item on the utility bill from $16.85 to 13.05 or a reduction of $3.80 per month. This will be reflected starting with the May Utility Billing that will be sent the end of May for payment in June. It is our desire to keep you informed of City business and we try to do so through this news letter, the local media (newspaper, radio, and TV), and our website (www.citvofchubbuck.us ). As well as City Council Meetings on the sec- ond and fourth Tuesdays at 7:00 PM and Land Use and Development Commission Meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. We appreciate the productive input that we receive from many of you as we move forward. As you can note from the information below, we are doing our clean-up in the community a little differently this year. We are going to continue to have our typical events on May 19`h and would encourage your involvement in the larger scope activity for the community on June 2" d. Thanks again for your participation in any activity or event that betters our community. Each of you can and do assist in continuing to make Chubbuck a great place to live and do business.
