HomeMy WebLinkAbout06 01 1976 Ord. 167PROOF OF PUBLICATION � L � 6 STATE OF IDAHO S94 County of Bannock ORDINANCE NO. 161 -- AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO, ADOPTING THE 1973 EDITION OF THE LIFE SAFETY CODE PUBLISHED BY THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION; PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION OF FUTURE EDITIONS OF SAiD LIFE SAFETY CODE BY RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL PURSUANT TO THIS ORDINANCE; REQUIRING THE CITY CLERK TO MAIN- TAIN ON FILE IN THE CHUBBUCK CITY OFFICES THREE COPIES OF SAID LIFE SAFETY CODE TOGETHER WITH AMENDMENTS THERETO AND RESOLUTIONS ADOPTING SUCH AMEND- MENTS; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES TO THE EXTENT OF SUCH CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERA$iLITY; AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS OR- DINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO: SECTION 1: Adoption of Life Safety Code. A certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the city clerk, Chubbuck City Offices, being marked and designated as the Life Safety Code, 1973 Edition, published by the National Fire Protection Association, shall be and the same hereby is adopted and incorporated by reference herein. SECTION 2: Procedure for Adoption of Future Editions. Futureeditionsof said Life Safety Code may be adopted,asthe same are published from time to time by the National Fire Protection Association or its Successor organization, by resolution shall identify with particularity the edition of said Life Safety Code so adopted and shall recite that it is adopted pursuant to this or- dinance. SECTION 3: Filing. Three (3) copies of the 1973 edition of the Life Safety Code, together with three (3) copies of any future amendments thereto and of the resolutions of the Mayor and Council adopting said amend- ments, all to be certified by the City Clerk, shall be maintained on file in the Clerk's Office for use and examination by the public. SECTION 4: Repeal of Con. flicting Ordinances. Any provision of any prior ordinance which conflicts , with the Provisions of this ordinance, or of the Life Safety Code as herein adopted. and which cannot be construed consistently with this ordinance or said Life Safety Code, is hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: Severability- If any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this ordinance or of the Life Safety Code as herein adopted, is held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, for any reason, such holding shall not affect the validity or en- forceability of any of the remaining provisions. 0 Katherine Wanner being first duly sworn on oath deposes and says: That----- he was at all times herein mentioned a citizen of the United States of America, more than 21 years of age, and the principal Cleric of THE IDAHO STATE JOURNAL, a daily newspaper, printed and published at Pocatello, Bannock County, Idaho, and having a general circulation therein.
