Home My WebLink About05 02 1979 Ord. 197PROOF OF PUBLICATION STATE OF IDAHO ss: County of Bannock - LEG ALADVERTISEMENT LEGALADVERTISEMENT ,vorn on oath deposes and say : That --_-- CITY OFCHUBBUCK, IDAHO ORDINANCE NO. 197 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHUBSUCK, IDAHO, DE- CLARING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL HAS REVIEWED THE RATES CHARGED FOR MUNICIPAL SERVICES IN RELA- TION TO THE COSTS OF PROVIDING SUCH SERVICES; AMENDING CHUB8UCK CITY ORDINANCE NO. 129 TO PRO- VIDE NEW RATES FOR WATER SERVICE WITHIN THE OUTSIDE THE CITY; FURTHER AMENDING SAID ORDI- NANCE NO. 129 TO PROVIDE NEW RATES FOR GARBAGE COLLECTION SERVICES WITHIN AND OUTSIDE THE CITY; FURTHER AMENDING SAfD ORDINANCE NO, 129 TO PRO- VIDE NEW RATES FOR SEWER SERVICES WITHIN AND OUTSIDE THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR SPECIAL RATE AD- JUSTMENTS; REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINACES TO THE EXTENT OF CONFL)CT; PROTECTING THE REMAINING PROV1D10, S OF THIS ORDINANCE IF ANY PROVISION SHOULD BE HELD INVALID; AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE C(TY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO; SECTION 1; Declaratfon, The Chubbuck City Council has re- viewed in detail the rates charged for municipal services under Chubbuck City Ordinance No. 129, enacted on December 11, 1973, as well as ordiances incorporated by reference therein. The City Council has found that the costs of providing such services have changed, due to general inflationary pressures and growth in numbers of subscribers to such services. In some instances, such growth has enabled the City to realize econo- mies of scale which tend to alleviate rate increases that would otherwise be required. Having compared the rates and current costs, the City council has concluded that the new rate sched- ules, set forth below, should be adopted without delay: SECTION 2: (Nater Rates. Section 1 of said Ordinance No. 129 is "reby repealed and the following section 's substituted ther- efor; "SECTION l: (Nater rates. "B. Outside the City, the rates shall be one hundred fifty per. cent (150%) of the applicable rates for service within the City." SECTION 3; Garbage collection Rates. Section 2 of said Ordi- nance No. 129 is hereby repealed in its entirety and the follow- ing sectin substituted therefor; "SECTION 2: Garbage Collection Rates. The rates charged for garbage coilection through the Sanitary Service System shall be as follows: "A. for service to residences within the City, a monthly charge of three dollars ($3.00) shalt be imposed for each single -house- hold dwelling and for the first dwelling unit in a multiple house- hold dwelling complex, A monthly charge of two dollars ($2.00) shall be imposed for the second and each additional unit in such multiple -household dwelling complex. 118. For service to commercial and industrial establishments within the City, a monthly charge equivalent to the single - household dwelling residential charge shall be imposed except that for those establishments required by ordinance to use dumpsters, the monthly charge shall be sixteen dollars ($16.00) for service consisting of one (1) pickup per week, plus six dol- lars fifty cents ($6.50) per month for each additional weekly pickup. "C. The rates imposed for sanitary service outside the City shall be one hundred fifty percent (150%) of the applicable rates for service within the City." SECTION 4: Sewer Rates.
