Ordinance No. 231 of the City of Chubbuck, Idaho was passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor on the 81h day Gf December, 1981, 2. The ordinance is described as the Chubbuck Pawnshop and Pawnbroker Or dinance. 3. The principal provisions of the ordi. nance are summarized as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO ENACTING A NEW CHAPTER 5.05 OF THE CHUBBUCK MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE FOR THE LICENSING AND REGULATION OF PAWNBROKERS AND PAWN- SHOPS; DEFINING THE TERMS PAWNSHOP AND PAWNBROKER; EN ACTING SECTIONS 5.05.020 THROUGH 5.05.070 TO REQUIRE LICENSES FOR THE OPERATION OF A PAWNSHOP, TO PROVIDE FOR THE LICENSE FEE THEREFORE, TO PROVIDE FOR AN INVESTIGATION OF THE APPLICANT PRIOR TO THE ISSUANCE OF A PAWN- SHOP LICENSE, AND TO REQUIRE THAT THE APPLICANT POST A BOND TO ENSURE HIS COMPLIANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 5.05; ENACTING SECTION 5.05.080 TO LIMIT THE TRANSFERABILITY OF THE PAWNSHOP LICENSE; ENACTING SECTIONS 5.05.090 THROUGH 5.05,210 TO REGULATE THE OPERATIONS OF A PAWNSHOP OR PAWNBROKER, TO REQUIRE THE KEEPING OF DE- TAILED RECORDS AND THE SUBMIS. SION OF THOSE RECORDS TO THE CHIEF OF POLICE, TO PROHIBIT THE RECEIPT OF PAWNS OR PLEDGES FROM CERTAIN PERSONS, TO REGU. LATE AND RESTRICT THE AGES OF EMPLOYEES, TO REQUIRE THE REG- ISTRATION OF EMPLOYEES AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE REVOCATION OF LICENSE FOR NONCOMPLIANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 5.05; ENACTING SECTION 5.05.220 To RESTRICT THE LOCATION OF PAWN- SHOPS; ENACTING SECTION 5.05.230 TO PROVIDE THAT A VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND CHAPTER 5.05 OF THE CHUBBUCK MUNICIPAL CODE SHALL BE A MISDEMEANOR PUNISHABLE BY A FINE OF UP TO $300 AND/OR IMPRISONMENT IN THE COUNTY JAIL FOR UP TO 30 DAYS, WITH EACH DAY DURING WHICH THE VIOLATION CONTINUES CONSTITUT- ING A SEPARATE OFFENSE; RE- PEALING CONFLICTING ORDI- NANCES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERA- BILITY; AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFEC- TIVE, 4. This ordinance provides for license fees for the issuance of a license for the operation of a pawnshop or pawnbroker's business. S. This ordinance is effective upon publi- cation of this notice. Criminal misde. meanor penalties are provided for viola- tions of the ordinance's provisions regard- ing the regulation and licensing of pawnshops. 6. The fufl, text of this ordinance is avallabfe at the Chubbuck City Offices, 5160 Yellowstone Avenue. 7. The foregoing is true and complete, and provides adequate notice to the public of the enactment of this ordinance. S/B.
