Dale Hall, 238 Henry Ave. has requested a sign, to be placed at 103 W. Siphon Rd. Those present were Mayor Cotant, Ron Conlin, Cary Campbell, Charlie Dickman, Fire Chief, Police Chief Jerry Rowland, Larry Kohntopp. While discussing the sign, Mr. Monroe was advised of the following: 1. No backing on to Siphon Rd. 2. Landscaping requirements, because the building originally was residential, but will now be use commercially. Landscaping Requirements to be finished prior to September 1, 1-c)c)6. 3. Parking should be to west side of building, because of lack of room when landscaping is installed. 4. Parking requirement will be ten spaces, included in these are employee parking. A parking requirement waiver can be taken to the City Council for a decision. 5. Siphon Rd. is a designated "Truck Route". 6. The property will be graveled. 7. Gerd will meet with Mr. Hall and make an autocad drawing of how the proposed plan will look. B. Mr. Hall stated, a City street sign is in the way of the plan. It was decided the sign could be removed and placed to west end of Mr. Hall's property. City will move the sign. After discussion, the Design Review Committee reached the following decision: To allow Mr. Monroe to install a 6 foot tall, four foot wide sign, facing north at 103 W. Siphon Road, subject to all City Codes being met. DESIGN REVIEW DECISION DATE: April 2, 1996 APPLICANT: Dale Hall - Monroe Fencing PROJECT: Installation of a sign at 103 W. Siphon Road Dale Hall has requested that he be allowed to place a sign at 103 W. Siphon Road advertising his business. During the discussion of the sign, the following matters came up for review with Mr. Hall, including no backing out onto Siphon Road, landscaping requirements along Siphon now that this is a commercial use; parking would need to be on the west side of the building because of lack of space in front of the building with required landscaping ,; 10 parking spaces would be required subject to a waiver and reduction by the City Council. Siphon Road is a designated truck route; the property would need to be graveled; Gerd Dixon of the City will meet with Mr. Hall and provide a drawing of how the proposed plan will lay out. Mr. Hall noted that a City street sign is in the way of his proposed sign. The City will move its sign and place it at the west end of Mr. Hall's property. After consideration, the Design Review Committee reached the following decision: A. Mr. Hall may install a 6' tall 4' wide sign facing north at 103 W. Siphon Road, subject to all other City codes being met. B. Any landscaping required should be finished prior to September 1, 1996.
