Regular Meeting of Commissioners
April 4, 2005
A regular meeting of the baseball Commissioners was called to order in the City of Chubbuck
Council Chambers meeting room at 7:15 p.m. with prior notice sent to the Commissioners.
The following Commissioners/Assistants were present Doug Burrows, Brad Christensen, Tom
Davie, Scott Gross, Doug Hensen, Mike O'Toole, Brent Stenersen, Jimmy Robinson, and Gary
Winters.
Also present Scott Ferro and Penny Jones, taking minutes of the meeting.
Jimmy Robinson, League President, conducted meeting.
Scott Ferro stated the city is going to provide the clay for mounds and pumice for fields at Cotant
for the baseball fields. The league commissioners will be responsible for building the mounds.
The city should be ready for them to start building mounds on Tuesday, March 29, 2005. They
agreed they will need at least 3 to 4 people to help on each mound. Jimmy asked that everyone
who can needs to be at Cotant park on Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m.
Brent Stenersen suggested tehy should look into pitching rubbers. Gary Winters had a price list
and all agreed with the price . They believe they will need six of them.
Scott Ferro stated that the fields will be 3 to 4 inches deep with sand. The sand will remain wet
for a time and that if possible the need to keep everyone off is great at least for a couple of weeks,
especially at tryouts. He also stated they are installing 2 sprinklers per field.
Scott gross suggested they ask Home Depot to donate ABS tubing for the Chubbuck Baseball
Fields. If they donate them a sign could be placed showing their support. Doug Burrows said he
would ask Home Depot about it.
Jimmy Robinson stated Soda Springs called and would like to play in Pony League, they only
have one team. Everyone agreed Soda Springs is a problem the 2nd half of the season, they don't
show up for games after school lets out. Brent Stenersen suggested they let Soda Springs play the
first half the season but all games will be held in Chubbuck, they will also pay $40 for each
player and abide by Chubbuck rules and bylaws. All commissioners agreed. Jimmy Robinson
will call Soda Springs to see if they agree with our guidelines.
Scott Ferro said the league spent $2500 on homerun fences for the fields, he also said he will need
everyone help April 9'h to build them.
Jimmy Robinson stated Dee Burwell resigned from his commissioner position because of work
issues. Ron Hansen was assigned his position by league president. Jimmy Robinson was told by
Tony Williams that he doesn't think he will be much help because of work this year. Scott Gross
moved to appoint Dave Acevado as commissioner to help him. Brad Christensen will move up to
Mustang Commissioner.
Brent Stenersen relayed to all that all new players will be drawn out of a hat by the coaches.
Next meeting will be Monday, April 4, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Chubbuck City Hall in the Council
Chambers.
