The following Commissioners/Assistants were present David Acevedo, Coy Bowman, Tom Davie, Scott Ferro, Clay Gummersal, Fred Lewis, Brent Stenersen, Tony Williams, Gary Winters. Also present Danielle Madsen, taking minutes of the meeting. Brent Stenersen, League President, conducted meeting. Discussion of pre-ordering hats costing$9.00 with full sponsor names took place. Tony Williams was able to purchase same quality of hats in prior year from S.L.T. Graphics for$9.00 each. The only problem foreseen with ordering hats early would be a child with a head larger than average. Coaches still have ability to order hats from who they would choose but are required to have same quality as majority. Organization of girls softball was discussed. Asked for volunteers to help with getting girls softball started back up this year. It was discussed that sponsorship would need to be started in middle of March with a $200 sponsorship fee or$250 sponsorship fee with a sponsor sign for advertisement being put up. Gary Winters ordered $3,600 in equipment and uniforms to replace used equipment. It was also discussed that the cost to do a Mustang field fence would be $620 and $900 for a Bronco fence. It was discussed that registration was moved to Idaho Sporting Good Store located at 4818 Yellowstone and that 2 commissioners would be at each of the registration dates split in 2 shifts for each day. Tom Davie researched the must slide rule and found that no such rule is documented in any rules he could find. It will be a judgement call. When there is a coaches meeting it will be stressed that they must teach each base and when to slide and when not to slide. It was also noted that there will be no lead-off in Mustangs. It was again mentioned that there would be scholarships available for any child who wanted to play but couldn't due to financial hardship. Teams will be drawn on the night of March 15. It was also discussed that it may be necessary to replace Commissioners that are not coming to scheduled meetings and that it takes an unanimous vote to remove any Commissioner from the league. It was mentioned that there is a need for Pony team coaches. It was also discussed that to get more teams here for tournaments that there would be a need to use Babe Ruth rules, that only Pocatello, Blackfoot and Chubbuck are still using Pony rules. The next meeting of the commissioners will be held March 27, 2003, in the City of Chubbuck City Counsel Chambers at 7:00 p.m Adjourned at 9:40 p.m. Approved Date
