Minutes of the regular meeting held in the city municipal building
October 20, 1976.
Present members: Dave Higbee, Dorothy Worley, Boyd Fullmer, and Myrna Cain.
Due to a lack of members present we cannot hold a quorum, so we cannot act
on business in an official manner.
Dave Higbee read through the new ordinance for our committee, #171. Present
members willing to accept membership on the new board are: Dave Higbee,
Dorothy Worleyl .Myrna Cain, Gary Lewis, Bill Armstrong. '
Richard Allen will be unable to attend Wednesday night meetings.
We need persons with association of: Business community, recreation, retired or
disabled persons, school students and representives from neighborhoods of
Bench area, Neider area, Greener Pastures, and Mobile Home area.
Possible board members suggested are: Mr. Kiane Forsgren, Richard Parkin,
Lois Harrison on Scott Street, Pat Collard on Sorrell Street.
RAILROAD CROSSINGS - We read the letter regarding the railroad crossing symbol„
markings and members present believe this is a good idea.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS-Dave Higbee went through the summary of traffic accidents
for 1974 and 1975, and we compared the reports for the two years mentioned.
Dave Higbee and Myrna Cain will go the the Chubbuck P. T. A. to present
the idea of having a safety patrol from the school at the main intersection
crossings pertaining to the school.
SAFETY POSTER CONTEST-Plans and ideas were discussed to hold the safety poster
contest in the Chubbuck and Tyhee schools.
CITY OFFICE BUSINESS-We would like to make a recommendation to the city council
that the city offices remain open during the hours of 12 p.m. to 1 p. m.
It has come to our attention that several citizens have tried to come to the
city offices at this hour and have been unable to complete their business
at this time.
BICYCLE ORDINANCE - We would like to know what the current standing on a bicycle
ordinance is? Has the council done anything with the material we submitted
on this matter?
BUDGET DESIRED - We have discussed the need for a budget of some kind for our
committee and at this time would like to ask for $102.00, an estimated figure
for our poster contest to use for prizes.
APPEAL PANEL- Our committee sees no reason why they connot act as an appeal panel
on dog problems when the need arises.
MEETING ADJOURNED AT 9:40 p. m.
NEXT MEETING will be on the second (2) Wednesd of November, the 10th, at 7:30 p.m.
