March 16, 1976
Meeting started at 7:05 p.m.
Present: Dave Higbee, Dorthy Worley, Gary Lewis and Myrna Cain
Discussion on letter from the Mayor on subjects pertaining to us.
Fix or replace street name sign on the corner of Lariat and Sorrell. Complaint
of not being able to read the Sorrell Street sign. It is covered by a tree.
Gary Lewis asked that we compose a letter announcing the up-coming clean up campaign
and he will take it to the Journal and see if we can get some publicity; also will
try radio and channel six.
Complaints about the potholes on the roads. When are we going to do something about
them':
How are we going to enforce the old car and farm equipment ordinance? Could the
Police Department call on the people and tell them the ordinance exists?
What days are the extra cleaning trucks coming around? Would it be possible to
have them come on Saturday and Sunday for full coverage for working people? At
least one or two week-ends during the clean up time.
We would like to recommend to the city Ithat they adopt an ordinance for-bidding the
high power transmission lines from going thru the city, as these are very unsightly.
We suggest the city investigate the installation of street lights in the new sub-
divisions.
The ten priorities we set for our committee when it was first formed have been
fulfilled or else are pending. It was suggested we think of ten more to be
discussed at our next meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30p.m.
Next meeting to be held April 7, 7:00 p.m.
