Financial and Police Reports for month presented to Board.
Fire Truck Service- Snake River Mutual letter read in fu21 by Clerk. Letter
stated that Snake River Mutual billed Otis Sharon, a resident inside the Village
limits, for a Fire because he was not one of their policyholders. After discussion
the Board stated that it has always been their understanding that any one living
inside the Village limits would not be billed for a fi~e, and they instructed the
Clerk to write a letter explaining their position on this matter to Snake River
Mutual.
Trailer Houses- Some people prasent asked if they could bu~a piece of property
in the 5400 block of Yellowstone~ which already has a Trailer Rouse on it, and
could they remove that Trailer Rouse and replace it with a bigger Trailer Rouse.
Board informed them that Ordinance # SA, the Trailer Rouse Ordinance, does not allow
such a move and they could net make any exceptions for them.
Hawthorne Road Water Main Line- After checking the financial report, ~?motion was
made to repay in full the balance due for this project. Motionmade by Underwood,
seconded by Rillman. All in favor.
Streets- Harris was present and asked what the Board wants him to do about
stcokptling gravel. The Board instructed him to continue stockpiling as long as we
can get the gravel, so we can be ready for any repairs when the weather is warm.
Cast Iron Pipe~ Ward asked brennan how much pipe we have on hand. BreD_nan stated
the we have 26 lengths of ~ inch, and 6 lengths of 6 inch. Each length is 18 feet.
The Board then instructed Brennan to be looking for any good buys on this pipe and
to be getting some more every chance he gets.
Police Car- Hensley reported that the Police Car needs a spot light. Board
all agreed that this is necessary and advised him to get one and have it installed.
Fire Dept.- Rensley reported that he has 500 feet of 1½ inch fire hose and he
needs adapters or couplings so the hose will fit our fire hydrants. The hose is in
5 lengths of 1OO feet each. Board told Rensley to check cost and see which is the
less expensive. Beard th~nks about $6.00 per coupling is a good estimate. Motion to
approve fixing fire hose to fit our hydrants made by Rillman, seconded by
Underwood. All in favor.
Water Turn-off Nan- Clerk reported to Board that R. C. Brewer has told her that
he has plenty to do fi~ing up his new home, aud he does not have the time to
adequately take care of this job. Motion to appoint Joe Brennan to this job made
by Underwood, seconded by Hillman. All in favor. Ward added that if, in the future
the Curb boxes are filled with gravel or dirt, the water will be shut off and the
curb box fixed and the owner or resident living there will have to pay the labor
and partsj if needed, to fix this particular curb box, before the water will be
turned back on. Some people deliberately fill theae curb boxes to prevent a water
shut off at t~eir property.
Annexationm Rensley asked if the Board was considering any annexations this
year, as he is being called to Police areas close to the Village. Board stated that
any annexation will have to wait till McDevitt is back fnom the Legsilature and
would probably be summer before this task will be undertaken.
Meeting recessed at 9:25 P.M. till further notice if necessary.
