PROJECT:
Addition to Starlite Theaters at the corner of Quinn and Poleline
Road
This matter comes on for review of the proposed Starlite 3 and 4 addition to be
built by Carmike Cinemas, Inc. adding on to the existing Starhte Cinemas at the corner
of Poleline and Quinn Road. No one appeared on behalf of Carmike Cinemas, Inc.,
although it is anticipated representatives will appear at a future date. Building Official
Cary Campbell presented a revised site plan, a copy of which is attached to these
minutes. The traffic flow was discussed as Was the landscaping.
After consideration, the Design Review Committee reached the following
decision:
A. The Quinn Road entrance and exit should be widened to provide for three
lanes, one inbound and two outbound with one ~tirecting traffic to the left on Quinn and
the other directing traffic to the right of Quinn.
B. Sidewalks shall be installed on Quinn and Poleline Road pursuant to City
ordinance and should join with the existing sidewalk to the north on Poleline and to the
west on Quinn Road. Design Review recommends the applicant give consideration to
setting the sidewalk back from the road and providing the green area between the
sidewalk and the road.
C. There shall be no exits on to Poleline.
D. The sign northeast of the theater may be relocated and shall comply with
the City sign code requirements.
E. The landscaping shall be installed in compliance with the City ordinance
and the proposed retention pond for drainage shall be primarily grass with a minimum of
rock.
