HomeMy WebLinkAbout01 23 1973 CM97 Minutes of the regular meeting of the City Council held in the city municipal building January 23, 1973. Present: Councilmen Kinghorn, Menard and Taylor, Attorney Hargraves and clerk Vera Armstrong, Mayor Cotant excused because of illness, Councilman Romriell excused because of working. Meeting called to order at 5 :20 p.m. by Chairman Wayne Taylor. Minutes of January 9 meeting approved as written. ORDINANCE # 117 read in full by clerk. Ordinance #117 was passed the 26th day of December and contained a typographical error, therefore Ordinance #117 is re- enacted with correct description. Motion to dispense with rule of reading on three separate days made by Councilman Menard and seconded by Kinghorn. Roll call vote: Kinghorn, yes; Menard, yes; Taylor, yes. Motion to adopt Ordinance #117 made by Councilman Kinghorn and seconded by Menard. Roll call vote: Kinghorn, yes, Menard, yes; Taylor, yes. ORDINANCE # 118 - Accepting the requirements of Title 19, Chapter 51, Idaho Code re- lating to the Standards and Training of Peace Officers read in full by clerk. Motion to dispense with rule of reading on three separate days made by Councilman Kinghorn with Menard seconding. Roll call vote: Kinghorn, yes; Menard, yes; Taylor, yes. Councilman Menard made motion to adopt Ordinance #11$ and motion was seconded by Kinghorn. Roll call vote: Kinghorn, yes; Menard, yes; Taylor, yes. JUNK ON LOTS AND ACREAGES - Council questioned if the city has an ordinance which will allow enforce ment of requiring owners to clean up their property. Attorney Hargraves read Ordinance #60 Section #21 and stated this section should cover problem. Councilman Menard read definitions of junk yard and auto wrecking yard from zoning ordinance and this ordinance should have some enforcements possibilities also. CURB AND GUTTER - discussed for all comercial development. Council in agreement that curbing should be required. Attorney Hargraves said an amendment that would require curbing could be adopted. UTILITY EASEMENTS - Council discussed the necessity of requiring utility easements in sub - divisions. Councilman Taylor and Menard felt this is the responsibility of the developer and not to be required by city. BUILDING INSPECTOR - Councilman Menard again stated he felt the city should hire a building inspector. Meeting adjourned at 9 :45 p.m. John 0. Cotant Jr. , Mayor Vera C. Armstrong, Clerk
