building May 30, 197~.
Present: Mayor Cotant, Councilmen Kinghorn, Menard, Romriell and Taylor. Clerk Vera
A~nstrong, Engineers Lar~yPerkins and Doug Jensen.
Meeting called to order at 5:20 p.m.
SEWER PROJECT - Mayor,.~nounc~l and engineers diacussed the progress of sewer project,
clean-up of easements, maintenance of unpaved streets, etc. Councilman Romriell asked
if engineers had record of equipment and men on the job. Engineer Perkins and Jensen
stated they had a daily log of same.
Engineer Perkins advised mayor and council they would need to be cautious in any
action with bonding company.
Engineer Perkins informed the council cit~wo~ld need to advertise if any claims for
materials and sub-contractors on sewer construction were unpaid before retainage
Withheld from Oregon Construction could be released. Oregon Construction are re-
quired to have a materials bond of 50~ of grant. Council again asked about contacting
Oregon Constructions bonding company. Engineer Perkins stated he would prefer to
contact Doug Gadd and try to get some action on construction and clean-up with
contractor first.
Mayor and council suggested meeting with Doug Gadd Tuesday, June 5. After a telephone
call to Doug Gadd, a meeting was set for Tuesday June 5 at 5:00 p.m.
SEWER PUMP - Engineer Perkins stated the sewer punp on Sorrell Drive did not meet
specifications and they were working with supplier to correct this problem.
HIWAY AVENUE DRAINAGE - Counc~J_man Romriell asked engineers if Hiway Avenue would
be patched or resurfaced. Engineer Jensen informed him it would be resurfaced.
Councilman Romriell advised engineers the water rtuu-off from the street ponded in
his driveway. Engineer Perkins stated they wot~ld check this out.
WATER IMPROV~V~NT PROJECT - Mayor and cotuncil requested Engineer Perkins to apply
for a federal grant for water improvements. Engineer Perkins said they would re-
figure the project and get back with the city.
QUINN WAT~LI~TE - Mayor and council discussed the proposed water project on Quinn Road
and Ronald Road. Engineer Peerkins informed council Pocatello manager Chubk Moss had
informed him less than a month ago %hey would cooperate with Chubbuck in serving
these people water.
SEWER LINE INSTALLATIONS - Mayor and council discussed the sewer installations and work
the city have agreed to do as per easement agreement.
Engineer Perkins suggested the city again send letter to residents requesting their
bids by a certain date.
Engineer Jensen told mayor and council some of the easement agreements did not include
complete hook-up to house and should be checked out.
It was suggested another letter be sent out requesting firm bids from the residents
that have agreements with the city and then the mayor and council consider each
bid separately before approving the work to be done.
Meeting recessed at 7:10 p.m.
